Our People with Purpose Gala is Saturday, May 2nd
|
Our
11th Annual People with Purpose Gala
is coming together beautifully and we're excited to celebrate with you! Highlights include American Standards played by pianist Diane King during our cocktail reception, incredible silent and live auction offerings, a delicious three-course dinner with wine, our warm and welcoming emcee, Heather Holmes of KTVU Fox 2, and what many of us highly anticipate -- wearing our most elegant pink attire!
A reminder that last year's gala SOLD OUT and we're well on our way to a full ballroom again. Don't miss this -- be sure to
buy your tickets now.
Friends love our gala because it's inspiring, elegant, festive and -- best of all -- supports HERS patients through our
Assistance Programs
. Planning a gala is a labor of love and success depends on many factors, including our hardworking volunteers, dedicated Staff and Board members, generous in-kind donors, and a very crucial group -- our sponsors!
Our sponsors
are incredibly important to us. Their contributions ensure we meet our fundraising goal; this year we have our sights set on raising $100K net. Sponsor support is also a testament to their belief in our mission and their desire that the unique needs of breast cancer survivors continue to be met.
Please join us in thanking our sponsors and supporting them as they support us. We've included links to their websites and encourage you to visit or reach out to them!

Community Partner Highlight: To Celebrate Life
|
Founded in 1996, To Celebrate Life believes that "no one should face cancer alone." To this end, they Bay Area support organizations that provide emergency, direct, and navigational services, as well as diagnostic services testing and complementary holistic therapies.
We're honored to be among so many amazing
organizations
to receive To Celebrate Life grant funds. Incredibly, their 2019-2020 funding cycle benefited 22 Bay Area nonprofits and resulted in over 10,000 services fulfilled!
A HERS grantor since 2012, To Celebrate Life has consistently supported our
Lymphedema Project
,
donating $53,000 to date so that low income and under-insured breast cancer patients have access to compression garments that provide both physical and emotional relief. The garments reduce pain and swelling and, as many patients share, also allay anxiety that the condition will worsen and self-consciousness due to altered appearance.
To Celebrate Life was recently in the news, having won the Marin Independent Journal's
Readers Choice Awards
for Best Nonprofit Organization and Best Charity Gala.
Donations are key to funding their grants as well as their highly-regarded fundraiser and fashion show,
Stepping Out To Celebrate Life.
2020 will mark this event's 25th Anniversary and you can bet HERS will be there on Saturday, September 26th!
