Our Respite Bed Program received the 2019 Community Service Award from the Brooklyn Heights Association honoring the program's work of providing overnight emergency shelters for homeless adults. The American Express Leadership Academy Selects CAMBA Leaders

We are pleased to announce that twelve CAMBA Program Leaders have been invited to participate in the 2019 American Express Leadership Academy. American Express   has teamed with the Center for Creative Leadership (CCL®) to train emerging nonprofit leaders in the skills they need to move up, take on new responsibilities, and lead their organizations into the future. This highly selective training program convenes 72   emerging leaders for an intensive five-day seminar on leadership and skills training in New York City. Virtual follow-up continues for a year through 2020, including one-on-one coaching, evaluations, online access to materials, and work with accountability partner.    To learn more about the American Express Leadership Academy, visit: .

Hall of Fame Inductee
CAMBA's Vice President Melissa Mowery has been voted into the Women in Human Services Hall of Fame. For more than 15 years, Melissa has been enhancing the HomeBase program, constantly in search of ways to help fight homelessness. CAMBA Legal Services saw the fruits of their efforts realized in working to legalize basement apartment conversion as affordable housing units. Mayor Bill de Blasio signed a bill championed by Councilmember Brad Lander that starts a pilot program for basement apartment conversions in East New York. For more Information click here

Atlantic House Celebrates Black History Month
Atlantic House Men's Shelter hosted its 15th Annual Black History Month Celebration on the last day of February. Led by CAMBA staff, the program highlighted compelling spoken word, speeches and success stories by clients and by staff who help them gain independence.

On February 2 nd , 50 archer y students took CAMBA by storm at Ocean Hill's Beacon 271 14th Annual Battle of the Boroughs Archery Tournament. The participants , ranging in age from kindergarten to adult, showed their impressive focus, poise and skills in this year's program .
