Happy 4th Anniversary?!!

Wow. Four years ago I was sitting quietly, wondering if anyone would come to this brand new part-time clinic (at the time I was working at Northwestern Memorial full time.) My practice grew so rapidly, and I quickly made the move to full time. Today, thanks to you, your support and your referrals, we are cruising along strong, now serving an expanding community of clients in an amazing new space.

Thank You! Our continued success is made possible by each and every one of you. Entering our 5th year, our bedrock approach stays the same: we practice slow, careful medicine to understand who each client is, and how to meet their needs.

What an amazing journey it has been. Here's to continuing to grow and learn, finding better ways to help each client realize the wonderful person inside of them.

Dash & Drake will be joining Tony on select days at the office, in a designated pet-friendly office. (We will still maintain separate space for our clients that prefer or require a pet-free space.)

Ask for Drake & Dash's in-office days and we'll make sure to schedule your referrals accordingly.

Updates on Stimulant and Naltrexone Shortages

The Bad News: the generic versions of Adderall ER seem to be on back order in much of the city, causing more pressure on other products.

Some Good News: On September 3, the FDA approved a significant increase (23.5%) in the quotas for manufacture of Vyvanse and generic Lisdexamfetamine -- and an 18.4% increase for D-Amphetamine, to be converted for the manufacture of Vyvanse. The FDA cited increases in demand, both domestically and internationally, with shortages in Australia and huge increases in demand in Europe. One quarter of the increase is for domestic use: three quarters of the increase is to satisfy foreign demand. So: will this even make a dent in the demand? Time will tell.

In Other News:

Oral Naltrexone for opioid and alcohol treatment continues to be in shortage. A few patients have had problems, but many are managing. We continue to offer Vivitrol shots monthly for those who need them.

Summer winds down, and autumn begins to show its beautiful colors. Schedules and holidays and work promise a full season ahead.
