DOWNTOWN Y UPGRADES NEAR COMPLETION
We have received many questions about our Downtown Y. It is currently being used for our Y Academy program, a full day program that facilitates remote learning for elementary students. When students return to school we will re-open for fitness.
The Downtown Y will be subject to the same protocols that we currently have in place at the YMCA Rotary Aquatic Center. With that in mind, we share our exciting upgrades, but please understand these amenities are not going to be open until we reach Phase.
We have upgraded the men’s and women’s hot tubs. In addition, the men’s steam room was re-tiled, thanks to a generous donor and willing volunteers. We also replaced the HVAC systems for the first floor and the locker rooms. And, the pool was painted and a new pool heater installed.
The failure of our old boilers led to a significant reinvestment in the Downtown Y. We look forward to the day when everyone can enjoy these improvements.
THIRD PARTY INSURANCE MEMBERSHIPS -
CHANGES COMING SOON!

The Yakima YMCA has worked for years with three third party vendors who arrange for discounted membership options as part of insurance plans. These third party vendors represent a number of different insurance providers. Over the past couple months, the Y has negotiated with these vendors to update old agreements. In some cases, compensation from these vendors had not increased in many years. As a result of that process, the Y is happy to announce it will continue to work with the Renew Active Program through Optum. The Y will also continue to offer Silver & Fit and Active & Fit options through American Specialty Health (ASH Fitness). If you were part of another program that is not listed, please contact our Membership Director, Drew Edgerly (dedgerly@yakimaymca.org), if you would like more information.
HEALTH and SAFETY

As we reopen our doors, please be assured that your safety and the safety of all our members, program participants, staff and volunteers is our number one priority. We're following guidelines from health experts and local officials to ensure that our facilities meet the highest standards for hygiene and safety, and we have modified our policies and programs to facilitate safe physical/social distancing practices.
