Hello Carlene,

We hope you can join us on December 13 from 9 AM to 1 PM for MPHA’s virtual Annual Conference & Meeting – Rooted in Community: Building Equity-Driven Policies. We will spend the morning discussing and sharing effective strategies for achieving health equity and creating communities where all residents can thrive.

Our keynote this year will focus on Driving Health Equity through Public Health Data. Dr. Lauren Smith, Chief Health Equity and Strategy Officer for the CDC Foundation, will be sharing the Foundation’s recently released guide, Principles for Using Public Health Data to Drive Equity, and discussing the importance of embedding equity in all phases of data work and collaborating with communities most impacted by health inequities.

The agenda will also feature a conversation between MPHA staff members and State Senator-Elect Liz Miranda, who will be sharing her thoughts on public health and environmental justice.

In addition, MPHA will be sharing how we put our commitment to racial justice into action, and MPHA staff and Policy Council members will unveil our 2023 – 2024 policy agenda, which includes key updates to our housing platform, as well as a new environmental justice priority area.

Finally, we will wrap up the morning with MPHA’s Annual Meeting, during which MPHA members will be electing new Board members and officers, as well as expressing gratitude to departing Board members.

Tickets are $20 for individuals and $5 for students. We are pleased to announce that Spanish language interpretation is available for the whole conference. To sign up, please check the box on page 2 of the registration form.
