Blog: Sisterhood of Mothers
Mothers of children and youth with special health care needs often band together and form a powerful sisterhood. They share stories, resources, tears and laughter. These connections are powerfully uplifting, comforting and lead to a pooling of information.

These moms often also work tirelessly to improve communities, laws, school and healthcare systems. They can't stomach the idea of making their children fit into the world. And so instead they work to make the world a place where their children can find true belonging.

Family Voices of Minnesota wishes the sisterhood of exceptional moms a Happy Mother's Day!

"If the sisterhood had a book burning it would be of baby milestone books. Oh, and report cards, single-minded classroom observations, behavior reports, ignored party invitations, draft IEPs, growth charts, pink slips, and more... We would bring s’mores and hold a sacred space of all-in rejoicing about our kids’ actual achievements."
