Pulitzer Finalist H.W. Brands to Speak at JHC Program
March 24 at 7 p.m.

JHC is thrilled to welcome best-selling historian and two-time Pulitzer finalist H.W. Brands, for a FREE virtual conversation about his new book, “Our First Civil War: Patriots and Loyalists in the American Revolution.” An acclaimed historian and professor, Brands is the author of 30 books, including “The First American: The Life and Times of Benjamin Franklin” and “Traitor to His Class: The Privileged Life and Radical Presidency of Franklin Delano Roosevelt“–both of which were finalists for the Pulitzer Prize in biography.
New Advisory Board Member
JHC is thrilled to welcome its newest advisory board member, Peter E. Doane! Peter is a descendant of John Jay and is currently president of the Jay Cemetery. A graduate of the University of Michigan, Peter spent more than three decades at Lockheed Martin. He was born in Ohio, has lived everywhere from Thailand to Pakistan, and is currently a resident of Medford, New Jersey. A longtime auto racing aficionado, Peter has been a steadfast friend and counselor to the Jay Estate over the years.

Columbia Graduate Students Study Preservation at JHC
On Tuesday, February 8, a group of graduate students from JHC's partner the Columbia University Graduate School of Architecture, Planning, and Preservation (GSAPP) visited JHC for a class session. The course, taught by Prof. Mary Jablonski, is titled Conservation of Architectural Finishes, and will make several visits to JHC over the course of the semester.
