While it still feels like one really long day, we have arrived at our 8th week of pandemic living. Do you remember the Jerry Lewis Labor Day telethon for MDA? How Jerry Lewis would start the telethon bright and sparkly with a neat tuxedo and bowtie, ready to get that toteboard moving, and by the end he was a rumpled, sweaty, exhausted mess of success? It's not unlike how I feel hitting the two-month mark.
I've been finding some time these past few weeks to start making masks , which means bringing out the sewing machine I haven't paid any attention to since adopting this little bit of joy, Rocky, last spring:

He found the mermaids, but not Waldo.

In making these masks I've discovered how much I've missed my sewing machine, and so I've been turning to one of our newer e-resources, CreativeBug , for inspiration. With your library card you can set up a free account and access hundreds of streaming tutorials for just about any craft you've been curious about. A personal favorite of mine is Cal Patch's tote bag tutorial.

Library staff continue to be creative in their own right. Have you seen Teen Librarian, Ellen's, cooking demonstrations? We've recently launched our own YouTube channel, which is where you can find Ellen's demos, as well as a bunch of storytimes from our children's librarians, and original content from some very talented local artists and performers. Please consider subscribing!

While we work on a plan for resuming more robust library services in the coming weeks and months, keep enjoying all of our amazing e-resources, and don't worry about your library materials being late!
