Dear Global Christian Warriors,
God willing, we'll be praying and repenting on this issue on the New York Godly Roots zoom call on November 1. I believe we missed God's 911 call on 9.11.2001:
9 11 and the destruction of the World Trade Center in New York----------we missed God's Point
In God's perfect timing, after the Pilgrims and the Puritans and the Quakers, the Lord brought to the colonies key evangelists who, with some local pastors, ushered in one or more "awakenings" in the Colonies. As these evangelists traveled throughout the Colonies, in some cases practically the whole community became born again, converted through sincere repentance into Christ's Kingdom. Among those now filled with the Holy Spirit, in each of the original thirteen Colonies, men and women then received His Call as if from John 15:16: "You did not choose Me but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you."
The call to these spiritual patriots was to bring Liberty to the captives, as Jesus preached 1700 or more years earlier, (Luke 4:16-21).
Jesus said: " The Spirt of the LORD is upon Me, Because He has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed; to proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD."
American Christian History is full of amazing incidents, God's Miracles, how these men and women, using His Holy Spirit Wisdom, brought His Liberty to a new government, a government no longer subject to the "divine right of kings."
Among the great majority of these new citizens of the United States of America,
over 90% of whom called themselves Christians, instead of their old tyrant, King George III of England, they now could place first in their lives the True King, the King of Kings, Jesus of Nazareth, the Risen Christ.
Many saw God's Plan and His Hand in their amazing Revolutionary War victory. Many honored what they now saw as their national Covenant with Him. Many saw that the Living God had planted His Miracles through His people called by His Name for this Godly Plan: to be the first nation to display, and then send, His Liberty all over the world. " Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty." (2 Corinthians 3:17).
Many humbly saw themselves as capable of being part of "the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden." (Matthew 5: 14). This was a fulfillment of a prophecy in 1630 by the key Puritan pastor, John Winthrop.
Upon the signing of the Declaration of Independence, Samuel Adams said: " We have this day restored the Sovereign to Whom alone men ought to be obedient. He reigns in heaven and from the rising to the setting sun, may His Kingdom come." And John Hancock said: " Let us humbly commit our righteous cause to the great Lord of the Universe... Let us joyfully leave our concerns in the hands of Him Who raises up and puts down the empires and kingdoms of the earth as He pleases."
Key leaders in the new nation saw themselves as true servants of their fellow citizens, serving also, thereby, the Living God. Ephesians 6: 5-7 may have been a central part of their thought: " Bondservants, be obedient to those who are your masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in sincerity of heart, as to Christ; not with eyeservice, as men-pleasers, but as bondservants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart, with goodwill doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men..." Similarly, Romans 12: 1 says: " I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service."
In a Thanksgiving Proclamation in 1789, President Washington said in part, that the purpose was " to be devoted by the People of these States to the SERVICE of that great and glorious Being, who is the beneficent Author of all the good that was, that is, or that will be--That we may then all unite in rendering unto him our sincere and humble thanks... and also that we may then unite in most humbly offering our prayers and supplications to the great Lord and Ruler of Nations and beseech him to pardon our national and other transgressions....."
By the year 2001 this Plan from the Living God to serve Him by displaying and sending Liberty all over the planet, had been muted if not lost. The once prosperous nation was now focused on itself, not needing God. Pastors and priests had failed to bring to life the Truth of Christ's Blood to rescue those now perishing in a humanistic culture filled with idolatry. Jesus' passionate, loud , twice-repeated message was essentially lost: "unless you repent you will all likewise perish" (Luke 13: 1-5)
Thus 9 11 was a literal "EMERGENCY" call by the Lord. It was His ALARM that the original Plan of God was at risk of being lost forever. He allowed a conditional judgment on a nation that had forgotten Him and His Plan.
And the World Trade Center "twin towers" reflected the god of mammon, and the god of self, the new gods of America.
To some with spiritual eyesight the emergency call by the Lord was obvious. He was hoping we would return to Him, based on His Word in 2 Chronicles 7: 13-14 and other Words clearly laid out in Joel, Jeremiah, and Jonah.
For a few weeks more churches were filled. There was a national church service at which Billy Graham spoke. But he didn't call for a Day of Repentance, nor did President Bush. Immediately after 9 11 there was prayer, but prayer is only part of God's Solution. Four steps are required before the Lord will hear from heaven and heal a land: " if My people who are called by My name will 1) humble themselves, and 2) pray and 3) seek My face, and 4) TURN from their wicked ways, THEN I will hear from heaven, forgive their sin and heal their land."
So there was prayer, but no one called for God's Solution: national repentance. Earlier generations had made such a call over 800 times since the Pilgrims. Each time the Lord honored His Word in 2 Chronicles 7: 13-14. The last such time was in 1918.
As to repentance there was silence from the White House, from Congress, and from "leaders" in the American church. Nor has any such call for a national day of repentance by key national leaders been forthcoming since.
Instead, the stiff-necked call -- as if from the builders of the Tower of Babel----was to "build back better."
As a result, disasters continue to plague the United States. We continue to miss God's Point in the horrific 9 11 tragedy!
Join me in this simple prayer: " Heavenly Father, in Your Son Jesus' Name, please forgive us for failing to carry out Your Plan for the United States of America. It was Your Plan to display and then to spread all over the world Your Liberty to set the captives free. We chose instead our twin towers: idols of self and mammon. We have also killed millions of Your children in the womb. We have legalized sexual abominations. We have proposed dividing Your Land of Israel with others. We are not worthy to ask for Your Mercy but we do so now, one by one, taking time with you today to confess these egregious sins. We do, one by one, repent that we have failed to carry out Your Plan. Please forgive us Lord ! Please forgive us! Hear our cry ! At this last hour, in Your mercy, open our eyes spiritually. Change our hearts and minds. Lead Your nation back to Your Plan! We pray this in Jesus' Holy Name, Amen and Amen."

Do you see repentance as vital for our times? In Luke 8:3 we see three women who understood the mighty move of God in front of them and wished to provide "from their substance."
