Art on Exhibit: Witnessing Waves Series by Alison Price

On display July 8 – August 24

"The Mississippi River Gorge and her wealth of heritage trees has always intrigued, inspired, and comforted me. This series pays respect to these gentle witnesses of migration and settlement along our mighty river, these magnificent, steadfast trees. The trees acknowledge the contribution of all of our respective backgrounds and ancestries. It is our collective heritage that makes our community a culturally rich and diverse place to call home. The trees welcome all, without discrimination. It is my hope that we all become like the trees." Learn more here

Calling all WBUUC Mid-Lifers for a Group Book Read

Rev. Jessica invites WBUUC mid-lifers (40-50 year olds) to a group read/discussion series of “Falling Upward: A Spirituality for the Two Halves of Life" by Richard Rohr. If you’re interested in exploring how the first half of your life can lend to a deeper spirituality in the second half of your life, contact Rev. Jessica. Once the level of interest has been determined, the schedule for meeting will be shared. Copies of the book, including used copies, can be purchased online or elsewhere.

Guns to Gardens in St. Croix Valley - Volunteers Needed

Rev. Jessica is seeking volunteer(s) to represent WBUUC as part of the Guns to Gardens (G2G) program. Their annual event will be on Sat. Oct. 3. from 1-4pm at First Presbyterian Church of Stillwater. G2G provides safe and anonymous disposal for those who have unwanted firearms in their homes. Owners are invited to bring their guns to the event to watch them being destroyed. This is not a statement about gun ownership, but an act of service to the community. Usable parts are then given to metalwork artists to be made into garden tools, decorative objects, and jewelry. Training and information will be provided.

Pastoral Care Requests, Meeting with Ministers and Building Hours

If you have a pastoral care update or a request for tangible support, please email Rev. Jack directly (revjack@wbuuc.org) or fill out this form: https://bit.ly/wbuucpc

We would be honored to name your joy or sorrow or life event during our Sunday morning meditation so that our community can know about your concern and hold it with you. As the Swedish proverb goes, “Shared joy is double joy; shared sorrow is half sorrow.”
