Following the failed effort in May by the Senate to move the Small Business Package, which included additional funding for the CERTS program, we need to concentrate our efforts on the CERTS grant tax fix.
As noted last month, Reps. Panetta (D-Calif.), LaHood (R-Ill.), Sires (D-N.J.) and Rose (R-Tenn.) introduced H.R. 7477, the CERTS Tax Exemption Act, on April 7. To move the bill, other tax legislation needs to move in the House, where this bill can then be added.
While our champions seek the opportunities to move the bill, the industry must assist by asking House members to support the legislation by adding their name as a co-sponsor. We need as many cosponsors of H.R. 7477 as possible, to show broad support for the bill. The current list of co-sponsors (to see if your member has signed on) is here.
Please take action below, to contact your House Representative and urge them to cosponsor H.R. 7477.
