APPROACHING THE DEADLINE

Judge Segal went on to say that while the Pasadena Rental Housing Board's structure is unfair to housing providers, it's not illegal. That means we need to reach out to Pasadena's voters through a ballot measure and ask them to deliver a fair rent regulation system. (Our 2 surveys say they will!)

AAGLA just published an article about how we are working to restore fairness through a ballot measure which addresses the concerns of Pasadena's residents. Surveys show that voters want to:

  • Require an equal number of landlords and tenants on the rent board
  • Preserve Costa-Hawkins (worth 33% of your property's value)
  • Cap out-of-control spending and fees
  • Merge the Rent Stabilization Department into the longstanding Department of Housing to save $3 million per year.

We are short on time. Please contribute $120 per rented unit that you own or manage. This includes single family homes, apartments, condos and ADUs, which are ALL covered under Measure H.

Tenant activists from Oakland spent almost $400,000 to get Measure H passed in 2022. To get a fair and efficient rent department, we need to spend even more than that.

PHP's founders and members are proud to be unpaid volunteers. We can only deliver fair and reasonable rent regulations by bringing our measure to the November 2026 ballot. Will you please join us by donating?

At this time, your contributions may be deductible as an operating expense. Once our ballot measure is submitted to the city, contributions will not be deductible. Please check with your professional tax advisor. Contribute online HERE.
