I have seen it many times & will always drop everything to see it again. Whenever I’m watching it, more than a few tears come rolling down my cheeks.......
Why?
Because it is such a genuine story. George is such a genuine person.
A person who does good for the sake of doing good. Not for a reward now, or for a reward later, but for the simple sake of doing good, because it’s the right thing to do.
I know most of us who are people of faith have been taught that we are rewarded for doing good in this world.
Now I don’t want to sound more righteous than anyone else, so please don’t misunderstand me. But I have always believed we do the right thing, because it is the right thing to do! Not for any other reason than that.
In doing so, we can take pride in ourselves while touching the lives of others.
George Bailey learned that from his Guardian Angel Clarence. But, George did the right thing because it was the right thing to do.
