Dear New Jersey Friends and Supporters,

On behalf of the AFSP Board, Walk Chairs and Committees, we thank you for your continued support, participation and efforts to help save lives in New Jersey. Our Fall Walk season has ended, with a record breaking 10,500 people raising over $1.1 MILLION DOLLARS! Thank you to each of you for all you do.

Many of you have asked how you can help throughout the year in addition to participating in our Out of the Darkness Walks. We're grateful for your interest. There's a lot to do in New Jersey and we need many volunteers to assist. Take a look at the ways you can get involved to help save lives in your local communities.

Campus Walks- connect us with Colleges/High Schools

When: Planning begins Now

Location: Anywhere in New Jersey

Campus Walks are a great way to engage teens and college to students to learn about prevention and raising funds on Campus. For High School students they can use this as a senior project. For Clubs or Greek Life, they can adopt AFSP as their charity and help promote mental health and education. Please connect us with your contacts who may want to host a Walk or bring prevention and education programs to the schools.

Join Team AFSP for the 2020 New Jersey Half and Full Marathon

Join a Community Walk Planning Committee for Fall 2020

When: Year round meetings starting January

Locations: Atlantic-Cape, Bergen County, Burlington County, Camden County, Chatham, Cumberland County, Eastern Essex County, Gloucester County, Hamilton, Hazlet, Hoboken, Jersey Shore, Middlesex County, Northwest New Jersey, and West Essex.

Share your time and talent, and join a committee: marketing, sponsorship, team and walker outreach, tabling at events, set up and logistics.

Host a Talk Saves Lives or More than Sad Program

When: All year round

Location: Anywhere in New Jersey

These are two of our most requested programs, geared toward discussing mental health, prevention and ways that people can support friends and loved one struggling. You can bring these programs to your school, workplace, church, Boys/Girls Club, Community Groups, Health Clubs. These programs are funded by the dollars you raised at our Walks and events.

Become a Town Ambassador/Chapter Representative

When: All year round

Location: Your Hometown

We need people to represent AFSP and to table at community events, school or business health fairs, and offer resources and guidance to community members when there is a death or someone is struggling. You will be trained to be a chapter representative and will be guided by your Area Director and Chapter Board to ensure you are comfortable.
