Due to the Covid-19 crisis the 2020, the 3rd NIH Chronic GvHD Consensus Conference will be held as a virtual meeting through six 2-hour sessions on Wednesday through Friday, November 18 - 20, 2020.
The main goal of the conference is to review progress on key documents which four working groups have been preparing since November 2019. The objective is to “think out of box”, to determine current gaps and best next steps to advance field of chronic GvHD and allogeneic transplantation within next 3-7 years. Submission of these papers for publication is planned through February – June 2021. While nothing can supplement the in-person meeting interactions, this year’s virtual format will allow a much broader live participation of all interested stakeholders nationally and internationally.
As a new component to the conference, the Patient Advocacy Summit presents an opportunity for the patient, caregiver, and advocacy population to discuss novel findings and ongoing challenges related to the treatment and experience of chronic GvHD.
The summit will discuss the progress and ideas from each of the four working groups.
Additionally, there will be interactive presentations focused on current issues and possible solutions surrounding three main topics:
• Patient and caregiver education and support
• Neurocognitive and psychosocial impact of cGvHD
• Survivorship and long-term care
