Hybrid Myth : Hybrids only run on a special grade or octane of gasoline.

False! Toyota’s entire hybrid lineup runs on regular-grade unleaded gas. The ICE under the hood of a hybrid is similar to any other vehicle, but tends to require less fuel thanks to the electric motor.
Hybrid Myth : The hybrid battery only charges when the vehicle is plugged in.

False! The battery can charge itself through a method called regenerative braking. The engine also kicks in after the battery is depleted and acts as a generator to recharge it.

Lauren Mattone is a receptionist for The My Auto Group! She has three children and two grandchildren. In her spare time, she loves to draw/craft, go salsa dancing, and is a professional singer.
