Team,
All of us play an important role in sharing the great things Idaho State University has to offer with our prospective students, their parents, and the community. Students are at the center of everything we do, and we need your support to showcase the value of an Idaho State education.
On Saturday, April 23, our University will host our annual Bengal Visit Day. It is our largest on-campus recruiting event, and I want you to be part of it. This event is our opportunity to showcase the value of the education we provide, the reliable support our students will receive, and the spirited community prospective students desire.
The event is an open-house format and helps prospective students become acquainted with Idaho State through several activities, including:
- A showcase of all academic programs
- Campus tours
- A student organization fair
- A view of on-campus housing options
- Informational sessions on applying, becoming a Bengal, steps after admission, transferring to ISU, financial aid, scholarships, Honors Program, Bengal Bridge, and job placement
- A tailgate and the spring football game
University faculty and staff play a vital role in creating genuine interest and getting students excited about enrolling. I encourage every member of our campus community to get involved in one of the following ways:
Showcase Your Academic Program
All academic departments and programs of study are encouraged to participate in the open house portion from 9 a.m. to noon. This is your chance to highlight your program, and share your passions with our future students! We need faculty and staff to be upbeat and engaging, and please also make sure facilities, labs, and classrooms are ready to show off. Sign up online to participate. Survey results from previous visit days indicate that potential students are most impacted by the academic showcase portion of this event.
Volunteer
We need staff volunteers to help with event logistics, including set up, take down, check in, and ushering students across campus. If you are interested in volunteering for the day, you can sign up online, or contact Nicole Joseph at (208) 282-2123 or at rosenico@isu.edu. All volunteers will receive a specific assignment and a t-shirt to wear on the day of the event.
Show Bengal Spirit
Since a spirited campus atmosphere is an important aspect of a university, I ask that all members of our campus community wear orange and black on April 23. Positive, united energy on our campus is vital to the event’s success. A student’s first impression and experience on our campus has a major impact on their decision to attend and whether or not they feel this could be their “home.”
The last time this event was in person was spring 2019 and brought more than 600 prospective students to campus, and our goal this year is to grow even more. A preview of the day’s agenda is included below. If you have any questions, please reach out directly to the Admissions Visitor Center.
I sincerely appreciate your support of this important Idaho State University event.
