Dear Gray Panthers and Activist Friends:
Thank you for being part of our Gray Panthers movement. This letter provides you with an update on National Council of Gray Panthers Networks (NCGPN) accomplishments during 2021. It also asks for your support to help sustain our movement into the coming year.
The NCGPN is all volunteer led organization that has advocated since 2015 for national policies that advance social and economic justice. We are former National Gray Panthers Board members who continue to maintain and build on the activist values of the Gray Panthers movement first launched by Maggie Kuhn in 1970.
During 2021, we helped support and build other Gray Panther networks. The NCGPN holds monthly meetings of an Issues Committee and a Housing subcommittee to discuss issues and take actions. During 2021, the NCGPN published 16 action alerts on a range of justice issues. Its Housing subcommittee developed a Gray Paper on the need to stand up for people living in long term care and encouraged elected officials to pay attention to these recommendations.
