CUNY Callouts

Meet Annette Calderon, the Emmy award-winning auteur behind the videos that showcase our unique students and programs! Annette is the multimedia director in the CUNY Office of Communications & Marketing and has been with CUNY for over 18 years. Born and raised in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, she always dreamed of coming to NYC. She graduated from Brooklyn College and soon came to work at CUNY. “As a visual storyteller, I knew this was a chance to use my skills in a meaningful way, and I was right,” she said. “I never dreamed I would stay this long, but the work has been fun and rewarding.”

What her day-to-day job looks like: “We could be visiting a CUNY campus filming students in a dance class one day and videotaping a press conference with our Chancellor the next.”

What she does for fun: “I love to read and watch movies and I love the New York Times crossword puzzle.”
