Rock the Oaks ROCKED!
It was the first year at a new venue and Rock the Oaks 2021 was a smashing hit! A huge thank you to our Sponsor Wilson Creek Winery for hosting the concerts and making the guest experience wonderful.

Thank you to all our talented and entertaining performers who delighted concert goers with Country, Rock and Broadway. There were two shows this year and both were equally outstanding.

Below is Bill Wilson of Wilson Creek Winery congratulating the Oak Grove Performers and getting their autographs. A huge highlight for the kids!
Cinco de Mayo on Campus
Oak Grove Residents were treated to two Cinco de Mayo celebrations! Thanks to Mighty Oaks Founder's Member, Leslie Echolds for sponsoring a Taco Truck. Your ongoing generosity and creativity are so greatly appreciated!! This even was a BIG HIT with our youth! Thank you Leslie!

Dorm Staff also coordinated fun festive activities and treats celebrating the holiday.

CULINARY CREATIONS TREND
We're Getting "Trendy"
A huge highlight for the Culinary Arts Vocational program in May was getting to work with Steven Moore, The Trendy Chef, known for his adventurous style and popular on TikTok. Trendy Chef caters to celebrities including Jay Leno, Justin Bieber and has been featured on Food Network "Supermarket Stakeout" and the Steve Harvey Morning Show.

Two Oak Grove young men from Dorm C worked alongside Trendy Chef to create June's Cookie of the Month - a Cookie Pizza. Definitely the perfect cookie for the young and old kids alike!

Club Members receive a special 9 inch pizza. Customers can purchase a mini Cookie Pizza daily from Culinary Creations in Old Town Temecula. Click below to order your pizza or sign up as a monthly Cookie Club Member for special offers and discounts all month long! As always, if you have a different “favorite” you can customize your selection.
SPORTS & RECREATION UPDATE
Running Club Prepares for First Half Marathon
The Running Club started during the early months of the pandemic and soon became a popular community-building activity on campus. It helps the youth build confidence and friendships during their time at Oak Grove Center.

This Spring, the Club ran their first race completing both a 5K and then 10K. We are excited to announce that for some of the Club Runners, they will be participating in their first Half-Marathon this July in San Diego!
SECRET GARDEN UPDATE
Oak Grove's Secret Garden
A vision that started last November, Oak Grove Residential Youth put together a vision board for an idea of a community-building garden. A place where you had to earn the right to enter by being on good behavior, being a good friend, a leader - you obtain entrance by being a positive, productive member of the Oak Grove youth community.

We are excited to announce that construction on this project is scheduled to begin this summer! But we still need help to make their vision complete! If you would like to learn more and see how you can help, contact Kristi Piatkowski.
OAK GROVE COMMUNITY HEROES
United Medical Fitness
Jennifer Sinclair is a well-known fitness expert in Temecula Valley. She is also one of Oak Grove Center's active Ambassadors. Jennifer has always had a huge heart for foster youth. She has done Yoga with Oak Grove residents in the past along with other nonprofits in the area.

In May, Jennifer led a month-long fundraiser with her company, United Medical Fitness, raising funds and support in honor of Foster Care Awareness Month. Thank you Jennifer for all you continue to do supporting the kids at Oak Grove Center!
A Story About Someone and Their Amazon Account
Our sweet Board of Director Member, Bernie Bramante serves on the Board even though he now lives in Washington. He is proof that philanthropy does not have borders. His is dear cousin Francesca Federico lives on the East Coast and has designated purchased through AmazonSmile to benefit Oak Grove Center. She orders what she needs and has made a huge impact in the lives of at-risk kids. Thanks to the designation, Oak Grove received over $1,000!

If you have a company that shops on Amazon, think about the difference you can make by doing nothing more than getting supplies you need. Designate Oak Grove Center by selecting "Oak Grove Institute Foundation, Inc." in Murrieta.
