From the President's Desk
TFRW President Barbara Trautman

Dear TFRW Members,

We all are deeply saddened by the events that took place last Wednesday, January 6.  TFRW members condemn violence in all forms.  All of us respect the rule of law and support our law enforcement officers at all levels.

All of us understand each other’s frustration and disappointment at this time. We are all grieving.

As Republican Women, we have much work to do. We will pray and rely on God to get us through.  We must stay connected and encourage each other in a positive way.

As Federated Women, we are part of the largest grassroots political organization that has been in existence since 1938.  That longevity speaks to the quality and strength of the organization.  Much has happened in our country since 1938, and yet the Federation has continued to pursue its objectives throughout that entire time.  Our state federation and all local clubs in the Tennessee Federation are secured by the stability that comes with being federated.  We benefit from collective wisdom that has been obtained through over 82 years of existence.  This benefit is experienced through adherence to our By-Laws and the pursuit of our well-developed achievements.  Federated Women stay connected and learn from each other.  We feel welcomed, seen, heard, valued, loved, and supported.

We must remain firm in our involvement as Federated Republican Women and get more truly involved, not only in our Federation, but in our county Republican Party as well.  We must continue to show faith in our Federation traditions and our institutions.

Let’s move forward in peace and love for each other.

“We know that peace is the condition under which mankind was meant to flourish.  Yet peace does not exist of its own will.  It depends on us, on our courage to build it and guard it and pass it on to future generations.” – President Ronald Reagan
