Did you know traumatic brain or head injury can cause seizures and epilepsy?
A traumatic brain injury occurs when the brain is physically injured, usually by sudden force.
This injury can be caused by a concussive blast or explosion. Because the damage is internal, there may be no visible head wound.
EFNC stands ready to support our veterans living with epilepsy through our many programs and services! We are proud to share information about one of our esteemed partners,
San Francisco Veterans Affairs Epilepsy Center of Excellence (ECoE).

outpatient epilepsy clinics with a staff of three neurology specialists are available. From these clinics, patients can be directed to the most advanced testing methods for the evaluation of epilepsy, including magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), electroencephalography (EEG), and additional assessment. For patients who require more intensive testing, the ECoE's inpatient unit provides around the clock EEG and video monitoring.
