February 24, 2026

Dear Academy Family,

Welcome back to campus after what can be described as the Great Snow Monster of 2026. Tomorrow we return on Wednesday, February 25, Cycle Day 8. We hope your backs have recovered from all the shoveling, your hot chocolate supplies have been replenished, you got some good reading in and your driveway or parking spot no longer resembles an arctic tundra.

As we return to campus, please take note of these important reminders:

Drive slowly: The roads on and around campus are still slick and narrow.

Walk carefully: Please channel your inner penguin, short steps and a steady pace. The paths are narrow but clear, however, ice patches will most likely form overnight. The entrances to buildings might be slick as we track in the moisture. Bottomline, Walk Carefully!

Parking will be limited: Hate to tell you, the snow monster is slowly eating up all of our parking spaces.

A huge, heartfelt thank you to our maintenance crew, who have been battling this beast of a campus all day. They have spent countless hours plowing, salting and shoveling so the rest of us could return to a campus that is safe and functional although a bit snow‑drifted.

We are excited to see everyone back tomorrow, put on those boots, safety over fashion. Stay safe out there, and let’s make this post‑storm return to campus as smooth as possible.

Yours in way too much snow,

Dr. Crig
