Dear Friends of Build A Miracle,

Before the stories, we have some exciting news...

On December 2 we will be celebrating

Christmas at the Community Center and

building BAM house #500!!!

Let us know if you would like to join us that afternoon to celebrate with people from the community.

We would love to have you and can use

volunteers to bring games

and crafts to help make the day special for all the BAM families!

And here's a few stories

we wanted to share:

Laura's Story

This first story is of Laura. Some of you might know her.

She moved into house number 259 sponsored by the Pancake House friends 7 years ago..

This is what she looked like the day we met her.

And even though she was living in a house like this:

With a bathroom like this:

She asked if we could go meet other families in her neighborhood because she had so many neighbors who needed help.

Since being part of the Build a Miracle family,

she decided to continue her education and just last month,

we celebrated her graduating from college with a degree in social work!

She is one of our subleaders who finds new families and helps organize so many of the people that participate in the Community Center programs.

She has 3 children and school has been a huge struggle because she has had to work and go to school - and we learned recently that sometimes her husband hasn’t had work and she wouldn’t send her kids to school because they each might need an extra $1-2 for something, and

she just didn't have that.

She never complained, we just heard about it from another subleader

She always had the most beautiful stories to tell about her children waiting for her to get home from school - even if it was 10 o’clock or 11 o’clock at night so they could hear about her day and make sure she was OK.

You can see from the picture how emotional and proud she is of her accomplishment.

We are all proud of her!

Abigail's Story

This is Abigail. She lives in BAM house #62.

About 10 years ago she started working on getting her high school diploma by taking a GED prep class at the Community Center.

She tried to take the test a couple times and didn’t pass, but this girl never gave up.

We now have a program at the Community Center where people can take one high school class at a time and then take a test on just that class until they finish all 22 classes.

Abigail has been doing that for quite a while at the Community Center and

now she is a high school graduate!

She has had many challenges over the years, but has never given up. We could not be more proud of her!

Vinissa's Story

This is Vinissa on the day we met her 11 years ago.

And this is the day that she moved into her BAM home and her sponsor told her that if she studied hard he would pay for her to go to college.

And she did - and he did - and here she is, one of our newest college graduates!

These 3 remarkable women, were among our

44 scholarship recipients who graduated this year

and who we celebrated last month.

33 high school graduates.

11 college graduates.

And if that’s not enough to warm your hearts, how about these pictures of the 600 kids that came to the summer program this year?

Or, there's more! Check out these pictures of the 200 women who attended a week-long training session at the Community Center taught by professional cosmetology teachers who flew in from all over the US to offer this amazing program for women who have graduated from BAM beauty school training classes.

And here are some pictures of the recent families who have received homes.

Each move-in seems to be a tearful experience as everyone feels joy and emotion for each new family, knowing that their lives will be changed from this day forward.

Actually, their lives change so much before the day of their move-in because from the moment they step foot into the Build A Miracle Community Center and became part of the Build A Miracle family, the transformation

process begins.

It’s a process that we have seen hundreds of times and

it never gets old.

It’s really incredible to see lives changed on a daily basis, and even though it feels impossible to show everything that happens at the Community Center and with Build A Miracle, at least we wanted to attempt to show you

SOME of it so you can see the difference you are helping to make!

God bless you and thanks for being a part of making miracles happen!

With so much growth and so much going on each day, we could ALWAYS use support in order to reach more people and change more lives!

And as always, 100% of your tax deductible donations go toward building homes and educational programs just like these.
