Dear Friends,
Recently, Faces & Voices of Recovery released their 2025 Policy Priorities—and we’re proud to say that here at Prevention Links, we’re fully aligned.
These priorities reflect what so many of us in the field already know to be true:
recovery support services save lives,
and it’s time for our policies to reflect that.
We were especially glad to see a strong focus on youth and young adult recovery...
that’s an area close to our hearts.
Whether it’s through our work at the Raymond J. Lesniak Recovery High School,
our peer programs,
or our statewide leadership in NJ-CARS,
we’ve seen firsthand what early support can do -
If you've seen it, you know it changes everything.
And it’s encouraging to know we’re not alone in pushing for more resources,
more access,
and more recognition for young people in recovery.
On June 11, we joined other advocates in Washington, D.C. as part of the New Jersey Coalition for Addiction Recovery Support.
It was Recovery Hill Day: a time to bring our voices directly to decision-makers.
We met with members of Congress to talk about what’s working,
what’s not,
and what’s still needed to build a system that truly supports recovery.
This isn’t about checking boxes (it never should be),
it’s about pushing for the kind of system that treats recovery like the long-term,
whole-person journey it actually is.
We’re grateful to Faces & Voices for laying out a bold and thoughtful policy agenda.
And we’re proud to be part of the movement to bring it to life.
