2021-22 School Year Starts Tuesday
|
|
Hello!
The new school year is upon us, and it is expected that we will see an increased need as many more families struggle to make ends meet. We continue to seek donations, volunteers, and opportunities to share the TCHP mission and story, as we serve our children who are headed back to school. Our goal is to raise $40,000 per month to continue our current level of service.
We are tremendously appreciative of your support, and we sincerely thank each and everyone of you who supported throughout 2020 and 2021.
We’ll continue to provide you with updates on how your funding, volunteering, and spreading awareness are keeping us strong and actively serving Brevard’s most vulnerable children.
In case you’re wondering how you can help this year, here are some ideas
- Get your group, team, company or family & friends together to help complete a packing event.
- Make a monthly or one-time monetary donation here.
- Have a food drive. A list of food items needed can be found here.
- Follow us on Facebook to learn more about ways to give. We post needs on Facebook as they arise, such as food donations, financial needs, and packing opportunities.
Together we will feed OUR children! Thank you again for your steadfast support of our mission.

RON JON HELPS TCHP GET BACK TO SCHOOL READY
|
Ron Jon adopted 100 kids for the 2021-22 school year! Not only have they been a supporter of TCHP over the years, they also volunteer to pack meals regularly. Their generous donation will help feed more kids on weekends. We are so appreciative of this local business that saw a need and acted on it. Many heartfelt thanks to Ron Jon on behalf of kids at risk of hunger here on the Space Coast!

CONGREGATIONS ADOPTING SCHOOLS THROUGH TCHP
|
Many children are going home with meals in their backpacks for the weekend because of our faith community. Full bellies help young brains work better, and with the help of local churches, temples and their congregations kids at risk of hunger go back to school on Mondays with one less challenge. Local churches pack meals, raise funds, and some even take responsibility for their delivery to the schools! Click below for updates.

We wrapped up our this year’s Feed and Read program, a summer partnership with United Way of Brevard. We assisted at 38 locations for almost 2,000 children, and 11,671 packets of food were served through this summer’s partnership. 9,621 books were distributed, and there was a ‘Thank You’ breakfast for the drivers. The Summer Feed and Read program provides a meal and volunteers read aloud to children. The program aims to reduce hunger and reading loss during the summer through providing nutrition, mentors for kids struggling with their reading, and provides free books.

DID YOU KNOW IT'S ONLY 42 CENTS PER DAY TO HELP FEED A CHILD?
JUST $12.50/MONTH FEEDS A CHILD EACH SCHOOL WEEKEND
While many organizations have federal and state funding, we rely on the goodness of businesses, civic groups, faith-based organizations and individuals. All of our meals are prepped, packed and distributed by volunteers. As a TCHP volunteer commented, “There is nothing more honorable than caring for hungry children. You all are heroes.” THANK YOU from the bottom of our hearts for being heroes to so many local children.

For those who can make a significant contribution, consider joining the Children’s Circle of Hope Society - this society is open to anyone contributing $1,000 or more annually. Contributions can be set up on a recurring basis of $84 per month.
Many thanks to local businesses, organizations and individuals that have stepped up to help us with our funding needs. Because of your help, we are making the lives of children in Brevard better during a challenging time.
PS: Please consider including The Children's Hunger Project in your beneficiary and estate plans. Leave a lasting legacy of fighting childhood hunger in our community!
