March 2013
We are liking 2013
2013 started off with a bang for us.

We sold one of our listings that we have had for several years.  It was a complete rehab.   We finally got the seller and the buyer to agree.  It took awhile but we got it sold.  That was January.

One of our loyal investors bought a great townhouse that was a bank owned property in February.

Then March came along and and a buyer friend of mine who I was showing properties to found what she wanted and that is due to close April 1.

We found a wonderful Real Estate Photographer to take photos of some of our listings.  Be sure and look at the listings with a virtual tour to see his work.

A good start for us.  Now if we can just keep it up.

Wise men talk because they have something to say; fools talk because they have to say something. -- Plato
Quick Tips
Green Living - Defrosting food in the microwave uses more energy than thawing items in the refrigerator. Instead of waiting until the last minute to begin thawing your food, plan ahead and place the food you want to cook with in the refrigerator the night before. Not only is this a safer way of thawing food, it will use less energy.

Healthy Living - Everyone can use a mood boost every once in a while. Instead of grabbing a high-fat or high-sugar snacks, use other ways to change your outlook. Try taking a brisk walk, preferably with a friend. You can brighten your day by acknowledging the good in others. Compliment a stranger or write a thank you note. You can also look to the future by planning a vacation, tackling a long-overdue home project, or learning a new recipe.

Home - How do you know what your decorating style is? It can take some trial and error to figure out what you like and what works together in your home. Spend some time looking through magazines and catalogs and take note of what catches your eye. Also consider your prized possessions, those things that you really love. You can often design a whole room from one beloved piece.

Organizing - Make your garage storage units moveable by mounting heavy-duty casters on them. Add these wheels to workbenches, tool carts, and other storage cabinets. Line them along the walls of your garage when you don't need them. When you are ready to get some work done, park the cars out of the garage and move the workbenches and cabinets to where you need them.

Safety - It is a good idea to have a fire extinguisher in your kitchen, but it won't do you any good if you don't know how to use it. Be sure to read all the instructions with your extinguisher. It should be rated for use on residential cooking equipment. Use the PASS method to extinguish the fire: Pull the safety pin, Aim at the base of the fire, Squeeze the handle slowly, and Sweep from side to side. If the fire is not extinguished, immediately leave your home and call 911 for help.

Money - You can save big bucks on eating out if you take advantage of some pricing differences. Most restaurants charge a lower price for lunch entrees than for dinner portions. You can save up to half of the tab while still getting a hearty amount of food. You can also try stopping in to a caf, pizzeria, wine bar, or coffee shop for a bit to eat instead of going to a restaurant. You will find that their prices are more reasonable.
