Welcome to ON TARGET, Graves County Economic Development's (GCED) bi-monthly newsletter. Here you can learn economic development updates, projects, and upcoming events. In this edition of ON TARGET we'll discuss recent events, expansions, updates on in-progress projects, and share what we're looking forward to in the future.

Past Months' Announcements

June

Osmundson Manufacturing Company broke ground in the Hickory Industrial Park. Announced last December, their investment totals $12.5 million dollars and they are expected to generate over 80 new full-time jobs for Graves County. This project came to fruition through the Kentucky Product Development Initiative (KPDI) which provided $115,000 for the pre-graded pad which Osmundson will construct on.

July

House Bill 9 is a bill that aims to help public agencies and non-profit entities in priority communities across the Commonwealth to access to grants for public projects from the federal government which require a non-federal match. GCED attended a meeting hosted in Murray to understand the legislation.

August

HVAC Distributing, LLC announced a 22,000 square foot expansion of their 210,000 square foot facility in the Hickory Industrial Park. The investment into this expansion equals $5.3 million and 40 new employees will be hired. This expansion is a result of the rapid growth of HVAC Distributing, LLC.

September

GCED, the City of Mayfield, and Graves County Fiscal Court hosted a bridge beautification luncheon for the Exit 25 Interchange Enhancement Project to thank our 18 community businesses who contributed to the first phase of this project. This project will be completed by M&M Decorating, with oversight from Artisan Contractors. The Second Phase of the project will be to plant trees and shrubs. Pictured below are renderings of the bridge beautification plans.

GCED announced a new speculative building to be constructed in the Hickory Industrial Park which received funding through the KPDI. Governor Beshear came to Mayfield on August 31st to present the KPDI funds from Round 1, which is an investment of $890,670 into Graves County. This speculative building will be constructed by Waldrop and Waldrop LLC., through GCED's first public-private partnership in its history. The building's expected completion is in November of 2024.

This will be our third Targeted Business and Industry Dinner. Last year's award winners were:
