What Driving Provided to Me: An Autistic Perspective on Driving

This webinar will be about Andrew Arboe’s driving journey and the executive functioning and sensory challenges he overcame. Andrew who founded Driving with Autism for a year and has done work for Planning Across the Spectrum and with The Next Street driving school will go over what ended up working for him and what strategies new drivers may be interested in. Finding the strategies will be key in figuring out how to safety drive, while addressing one's sensory needs.

Job Fair for Neurodiverse

When: October 26, 2023 | 1:00-5:00 pm

Where: Quinnipiac University North Haven


Consisting of:

  • Job Fair – wide range of employers (retail to tech and beyond)
  • Pre-Employment Skill Set Development-Presentation(s)
  • Job Search skill development & best practices-presentations

  

Overview:

As a job fair for the neurodiverse, this event is intended to highlight job opportunities, via an in-person format, for neurodiverse individuals seeking employment, and will include sessions on skills needed for success in the pursuit of that goal.


In addition, specialists will provide advice and counsel to individuals that may seek an employment path that is post-college with presentations/workshops.


We will also have a neurodiverse peer panel workshop for Q & A of their experiences and suggestions for success.
