We are proud to announce that Cummings Foundation has chosen
Friends of the Children-Boston for a Sustaining Grant, which will provide $250,000 in funding to serve our Achievers over the next ten years.
“It is truly an incredible honor to be chosen for this highly-selective award and to have Cummings Foundation’s confidence in the effectiveness of our model,” says Executive Director Yi-Chin Chen. “As a unique program that is both an early- and long-term intervention, this kind of support provides a cornerstone for our growth to better serve the children and youth who face the highest barriers to success in Boston.”
For the last four years,
Friends-Boston has been receiving funding from Cummings Foundation’s $100k for 100 program. We are so grateful to have our partnership continue!
Joyce and Bill Cummings established Cummings Foundation, Inc. in 1986. At that time, the commercial real estate firm Bill founded in 1970, Cummings Properties, was thriving, and the Winchester, Massachusetts couple decided they wanted to give back in the Greater Boston areas where the growing business operated and where its staff and clients lived.
Over the years, Joyce and Bill donated the large majority of their commercial property to the Foundation. Today, nearly all of the buildings managed by Cummings Properties are actually owned by and operated for the sole benefit of Cummings Foundation. Clients who lease space at these properties feel good about this business decision, knowing that Cummings Buildings Power Charities.
