Yes, the White Pass Scenic Byway, US Hwy 12, is a beautiful drive... But, the best reasons to visit the byway are for the things you can DO here, more than the things to SEE. From East to West, West to East, the byway offers World Class outdoor recreation year round!

Winter Camping

Seventeen of the 46 campgrounds located on or near the Byway are open for the winter. There are literally hundreds of campsites just waiting for you during the off season. Winter camping is quickly becoming a favorite weekend getaway. No crowds, no competition for the perfect site, and plenty of peace and quiet. Heaters replace the sun for warmth, blankets are the order of the day, instead of swimsuits.

The Nordic Center is open Thursday thru Sunday and Holidays. New Fat bike tracks & Doggie Hour.
Tubing is open weekends and holidays.
Night Skiing is on Saturdays through March 2 and MLK & Presidents Day weekend Sundays.

Each winter, summer hiking trails transform to a winter hiker's wonderland. Extensive trail systems around Randle, Packwood, White Pass and Rimrock Lake area offer snowshoers countless opportunities to explore the peace and solitude of quiet forests draped with fresh blankets of snow.

Please be aware of the limited services due to the US Government Shutdown. Exercise extreme caution and safety practices.

Washington State Parks continues to maintain both motorized and non motorized Sno-Parks in the area.
