It's here! It's here! The week of ISD-DC's 30th Anniversary! It's here! 

Do I sound just a little excited? Well I sure am! What an honor it is to be a part of ISD-DC's wonderful history of serving as a spiritual home and sanctuary to those seeking an experience of Spirit  in an atmosphere of unconditional love and acceptance. And how exciting is it that we all get to celebrate that history together, and then raise the vibration of our spiritual home to propel us into the next 30 years and beyond. 

Are you ready? 

I would like to acknowledge the dedication and hard work so many who have been working to beautify and prepare our home for our celebration. We have new wall sconces in the sanctuary that have been the dream of own Rev. James De Biasio, our foyer has been lovingly painted and updated by D'Lynne St. Pierre and Barbara Zill (who are also planning some special surprises as hosts of our receptions at the upcoming weekend's events) and our Spring Spruce Up Day this past weekend a small but mighty crew joined me to give the grounds a good refresh and renewal: Mike Caputy, Michelle Loy, Susan Lusi, Tony Lagarto, Ted Turner, Kermit Kiah, Rev. Patricia Makin, and Martha Saenz. So very grateful for them! 

And just in time for our approaching weekend! May 7th we will kick off our weekend of celebration with our " Champagne & Sweets" Concert and Reception, featuring the musical stylings of several of our talented ISD family members. And then Sunday will be our Service of Celebration, followed by a hosted reception immediately afterwards in the Fellowship Hall.  

And those events are just the beginning to all of the May magic that is happening at ISD. 

Wednesday, May 4, 7:30 p.m. is our monthly Healers Circle. Those who are ISD healers or are interested in becoming one are welcome to join in for a evening dedicated to "healing the healer." Contact Rev. Kathy Gregg for more information or to let her know you plan on participating. 

We have two classes coming up!  This week, on Thursday, May 5, we'll kick off Astrology: The Map to Knowing You, which will be led by a wonderful new instructor James Moran. James is a yogi, astrological counselor and an artist and you will enjoy his peaceful energy and his wonderful spirit. The class runs May 5, 12, 19 and 25. 

We'll continue our Metaphysics and the Bible series with Metaphysical Perspectives of the New Testament, which, like its predecessor class focusing on the Old Testament, takes a deeper look into the metaphysical meanings of some of the new Testament's most well-known stories, including the Gospels. The class runs May 10, 17, 24 and 31. 

On Saturday afternoon, May 14, we'll have a very special treat -- a channeled experience with DZAR, presented by Mary and Gary O'Brien, who hail from Australia. DZAR (pronounced ZAR) is a channeled Energy of Compassion sought out by people from all around the world for the insights and guidance they share. They are an expression of the creative consciousness that pervades our universe. Channeled by bestselling authors Gary and Mary O'Brien since 2008, they work with groups and individuals to create changes in their lives that bring more joy and a stronger connection to their Souls, to other people and to the Earth itself. It is the perfect "companion" event to our bi-monthly Psychic Fair, which follows that evening, with appointments being taken at 6:30 p.m. and readings beginning at 7. It is a day of lots of exciting psychic energy that you don't want to miss! 

Our retreat is fast approaching! Have you made your reservations yet?  This year's retreat is called Metaphysical Magic, and once again, we are partnering with Takoma Metaphysical Chapel for a weekend full of events and fun May 27 - 30. We'll be exploring how to "Create the Life We Imagine" through workshops, meditations, services, and more! Plus we'll have lots of time to explore the beautiful historic charm of Shepherdstown, West Virginia. You won't want to miss this magical Memorial Day weekend.
