Greetings!
Let me start with a good news. GreatNonprofits, the leading provider of user reviews of charities and nonprofits,
announced it has been named Child Foundation as a “
2018 Top-Rated Nonprofit
”. We are very honored to be chosen and we thank our donors, supporters and our staff for making it possible for three consecutive year.
The Top-Rated Nonprofit Award is based on the rating and reviews that GreatNonprofits received about Child Foundation. “
Child Foundation
is a great example of a nonprofit making a real difference in their community,” wrote Perla Ni, CEO of GreatNonprofits, “Their award is well-deserved recognition not only of their work, but the tremendous support they receive, as shown by the many outstanding reviews they have received from people who have direct experience working with Child Foundation.”
As the holidays approach, we are shifting gears and changing our focus to increase Child Foundation outreach opportunities.
We are sending Masoud Modarres, our Senior Outreach & Development Adviser, on the road to visit some of our donors and sponsors and spread the word on our foundation’s mission to bring education to children living in poverty. Who Do You Invite This Thanksgiving?
|
|
As Thanksgiving approaches, we are reminded of the things that we are thankful for; Our health, our loved ones, a roof over our heads, and food on our table. During these moments of “thanks”, we should focus on “giving” to those less fortunate living in poverty, dreaming of a safe and warm room or even just a few slices of bread for their children’s dinner.
This year, we will provide help to the following projects with donations collected for Thanksgiving:
- Delivering heating systems for 105 Conexes that were already purchased and delivered by Child Foundation to replace classrooms that had been destroyed by Kermanshah earthquake.
- Purchasing coal for families in Mazar-e-Sharif in order to stay warm in coming winter
- Arranging for food and education opportunities for Rohingya children who escaped persecution and death in Myanmar
- Providing food, and education to hundreds of orphans through our local partners in Cambodia
This Thanksgiving, we ask you to invite children from around the world to your thanksgiving table by providing them with a decent meal, a warm room, or access to education
.
Open your hearts and share your blessings with those who have nothing to celebrate except your kindness and generosity. Help celebrate your thanks and give back to those who do not have the resources that you are fortunate to have! Please donate

On November 12th, 2017 at 9:48 PM local time, an earthquake with a magnitude of 7.3 occurred on Kermanshah Province. The casualty was reported 630 people, more than half were from Sarpol-e-Zahab.
In the days that followed the earthquake, Child Foundation started to send some food and blankets via its local sister foundation, but our primary goal was to work on a more sustainable solution. We decided to keep our focus on the education of children so with all collected donations, we started to purchase and deliver conexes to replace damaged classrooms. Overall, 105 conexes were installed in damaged schools for the use of students.
As we reach the one-year anniversary of the earthquake, our assistance efforts continue. With the immediate crisis over, some local schools continue to be severely impacted by earthquake damage. Child Foundation is planning to provide heaters to all of our conexes and much more. According to the latest reports received from the local office of the Department of Education, they need at least 300 new heaters to replace old or damaged ones in classrooms.
Please join us in providing a warm classroom for children who have been affected by the earthquake.
Donate generously to our earthquake fund
to help purchase severely needed heaters. Let’s keep them warm this winter.
