New Project Hope Office Opens

Our newest Project Hope location opened last month to serve expecting mothers at our CCSEM office in Pontiac. Since beginning service, the new location has already served more than 10 expecting mothers, providing support and resources, infant care items, and more. To learn more about this ministry, go to the Project Hope page of our website here.
“Thank you from the bottom of my heart!”
Families/parishes express gratitude for Christmas help

Because of the many generous donations to our Saint Joseph Perpetual Help Fund during Christmas 2018, Catholic Charities was able to raise more than $36,000 to purchase gift cards to help 200 families. We wanted to share with you some of the kind words we received from those families, as well as the parishes and Saint Vincent de Paul councils who nominated the families. Clinton Township Adds
Play Therapy Room

The Mental Health Counseling ministry at our CCSEM Clinton Township office is experiencing significant growth in the number of child and adolescent clients. To better serve them, CCSEM has furnished a special "Play Therapy" room to begin use this month. " Incorporating play into therapy is critical to treating younger clients," said Doug Chalmers, Manager of Clinical Services in Clinton Township. Through play, children can better communicate what is troubling them. To learn more about all CCSEM counseling services, click here .
CCSEM in the News

Catholic Charities oversees several Student Prevention Leadership Teams (SPLT) in the Monroe area. The teams work to help prevent drug and alcohol abuse among their peers. Read more about one of their recent events in the Monroe News here .

Next time you are driving in the Auburn Hills or Roseville areas, keep an eye out for new billboards thanking participants in our Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP). The billboards will be visible for four weeks beginning February 11. In Auburn Hills, look for the billboard on I-75, south of the Joslyn Road exit. In Roseville, look for the billboard on Groesbeck Highway, south of 13 Mile Road. To learn more about our RSVP program, click here.

Holy Family Regional School Donates to Help
Hispanic & Newcomer Outreach Child Care Program

Did you know our Hispanic & Newcomer Outreach (HNO) Program offers
child care? Many of our clients, especially young mothers, need this help when taking English as a Second Language (ESL) classes, or to participate in any of our other programs to help them find employment and become self-sufficient. “We provide child care in a very positive, caring environment,” said Maria Etienne, Assistant Director for Hispanic & Newcomer Outreach. She said one of Catholic Charities’ ESL coordinators has been so impressed with the HNO child care program that she recommended it as a possible recipient of donations from the Catholic school her child attends. The school, Holy Family Regional School in Rochester, raised more than $800 for the HNO program through a fundraising event. Every Friday, students receive the privilege of a “dress down” day if they donate $1.00 to the charitable cause of the week.
Thank you Holy Family for your generous donation!
