Hello Guacfunders and Friends,

The Guacamole Fund is, as we're sure all of you are, heartbroken by the devastating flooding that happened in the Texas Hill Country over the weekend.

We grieve along with those affected who have lost loved ones and everything they owned. We support those who jumped into action, risking their own lives to save others.

We also support the organizations coming together to help in rescue efforts and get basic needs to those who are suffering. We have put together a small list of suggested organizations below for your consideration if you are able to help.

As seen on one of the organizations websites listed below,

Peace and kindness,

Austin Pets Alive!

“The Guadalupe River flooded and has caused loss of life and devastation in Kerr County.  We're supporting hurt and displaced pets. Our team is in flooded areas, providing medical care onsite and transporting animals to APA!. We will be working with Kerrville Pets Alive! over the next several days and, if possible, bringing more pets from the Kerr County and other shelters. This will allow them to make space for the animals they are likely to see over the next few days and keep them closer to home. Thank you for stepping up to help pets in need!” Please visit their website in the link above for daily updates.

World Central Kitchen

“World Central Kitchen’s Relief Team is in central Texas to support communities impacted by catastrophic flooding in Hill Country on Friday, July 4. Heavy rains in the region overnight peaked at 15 inches in some places and led to the flooding of the Guadalupe River.

WCK is first to the frontlines, providing meals in response to humanitarian, climate, and community crises. When disaster strikes, WCK’s Relief Team mobilizes to the frontlines with the urgency of now to start cooking and provide meals to people in need. By partnering with organizations on the ground and activating a network of food trucks or emergency kitchens, WCK provides freshly made, nutritious meals to communities impacted by disasters quickly and effectively. We know that good food provides not only nourishment, but also comfort and hope, especially in times of crisis around the world. WCK has provided more than 500 million fresh, nourishing meals for communities around the world. Your donation today will be used to support our emergency food relief efforts.”
