Dear SEEC Families and Friends,
I hope this note finds everyone healthy and safe.
Right now is an unprecedented time and many of our norms and daily routines have been disrupted. At SEEC, we want to ensure that despite these challenging times, the people we support continue to live, work and thrive and have meaning in their lives. We are here to help!
We are hoping that everyone receiving supports from SEEC will continue to engage with their DSPs and teams in meaningful ways moving forward. We are providing supports in more creative ways than ever! There are new virtual lessons, meet ups, job clubs, virtual hangouts, talent shows, exercise classes, cooking parties and online curriculum facilitated by staff available to your sons and daughters. Plus, we can do one-on-one short, safe walks with those we support, read a book to someone or dance and listen to music. New ideas for engagement are being developed daily! We also have the supplies to send out if you want them. Just let your team member know.
DDA, who provides the much needed funding to support people's outcomes and goals, mandates ongoing supports and services to ensure growth and development. To that end, we have been advised that longer term supports and services may be in jeopardy should people continue to refuse services. This is especially important as we foresee statewide stay at home orders to continue into the near future. If you are currently not receiving services from SEEC, we ask that you think about ways to re-engage.
With Governor Larry Hogan extending the closure of Maryland public schools through May 15, 2020 and probably beyond, now is the time to start or increase virtual supports. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me. Feel free to visit our website to view our

We are here to help. Stay well.
