No Sunday School

Our Sunday School break began June 1 and goes through August 17. Fall Sunday School will kick-off on August 24, 2025. This is a rhythm for us as a church to take a Sunday School break during the summer, which allows a rest for our teachers and volunteers.

Congratulations to Our Newly Elected Officers

Congratulations to our newly elected officers who will be installed this morning during our worship service. Join us in praying for our officers and their families as they lead our church. Also, please join us in thanking the Lord and our elders and deacon who are being promoted to elder emeritus and deacon emeritus.

Congratulations to Trent Thomas

We are excited to welcome Trent Thomas as our Assistant Pastor of Church Planting in Monroe, NC. Please join us for his installation service this Sunday evening, June 15, at 6:00 pm. Trent has been called by Christ Covenant and approved by Central Carolina Presbytery to plant a PCA church in Monroe, NC.

Trent is a natural fit for this as he grew up in the Monroe area and attended Wingate University. He also has deep connections to the ministry work of Christ Covenant. He was impacted and discipled at Wingate University through the ministry of Campus Outreach. In addition, he was brought up in the PCA through Church of the Redeemer (COR) in Indian Trail, which was a church plant from Christ Covenant. Now, Church of the Redeemer is partnering with Christ Covenant in this church plant.

Trent has a passion for relational discipleship and missional living that is contagious. Join us in praying for and in congratulating Trent on this accomplishment.

Finally, Trent will be hosting interest meetings for the church plant on the second and fourth Sundays throughout the months of July, August, and September. Please reach out to him for more details at tthomas@christcovenant.org

Reception for Trent Thomas

Sunday Evening, June 15

All are invited to join us at a reception to celebrate Trent Thomas after his installation service during evening worship on Sunday, June 15. The receptions will occur immediately following evening worship in the main lobby of the worship center.

Serve the City

June 16-19

Christ Covenant Youth Ministry (CCYM) is excited that over 50 of our middle and high school students are serving our community through Serve the City 2025! During the week of June 16 - 19, our students will be partnering with local ministries such as Learning Help Centers of Charlotte, Cooperative Christian Ministry, Rainbow Express Ministries, Queen City Pregnancy Resource Center, and Vive Charlotte as well as assisting many of Christ Covenant Church’s senior adults with house projects.

Would you join us in prayer during the week of Serve the City? Pray that our students and volunteers would be compelled and emboldened by the gospel to love God and love their neighbors by sharing Christ with those around them! Ask that God would use our students’ words and deeds to plant seeds in the hearts of those our students serve. Pray that God would use this time to develop deep friendships among the middle and high school students involved in CCYM. And, most importantly, pray that God would be glorified in Charlotte.

Monthly Day of Prayer

Tuesday, June 17

Our monthly day of prayer is Tuesday, June 17. There are two ways you can participate. One is to come in-person for your prayer time to the Covenant Day School Conference Room located in the A Building (this room is located next to the church’s main office) anytime between 7:30 am – 5:00 pm. Prayer guides are provided. Another option is to pick a time slot and pray where you are, whether that’s at home or at work. The day is divided into 30-minute segments for individuals to sign up and pray for supported workers and for the needs of our congregation. You can select the time that best fits your schedule by clicking here.

We also hope you will take time to submit your confidential prayer requests online either by clicking here or by email at prayer@christcovenant.org.

O Night

Tuesday, June 17

Join us for our next O Night! Our team of ambassadors for Christ shares the hope that we have with our neighbors in Matthews on the first and third Tuesdays of every month through September. You can serve in the community or with the prayer team in the south lobby. Our next O Night is this Tuesday, June 17, from 7:00 pm - 8:15pm. We meet in the south lobby. We would love to see you!

Family Fun Night

Friday, June 20

Children’s Ministry staff invites you to a Family Fun Night at Crooked Creek Park in Indian Trail, on Friday, June 20, from 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm. Bring your family and enjoy an evening at the park. The splash pad is reserved for us from 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm, but you can enjoy as much time as you’d like at the playground! We can’t wait to see you there!

Communion During Evening Worship

Sunday, June 22

We have an opportunity to observe communion together during evening worship on Sunday, June 22. We know that not everyone is able to attend morning worship for a wide variety of reasons. Therefore, we want to provide an opportunity to participate in the Lord’s Supper during evening worship. We are offering this quarterly throughout the year. We hope you will be able to join us.

HisAbilities Summer Respite Event

Volunteers Needed by June 27

Our HisAbilities ministry is excited to announce a new event for our growing respite ministry this summer, and we need volunteers! Our Summer Respite Event will be Saturday, July 19, from 10:00 am – 1:00 pm. Like our Respite Nights, this event presents a wonderful opportunity for our church to come alongside Christ Covenant families impacted by disability by providing a few hours of respite for parents while their children (younger or older) are cared for and engaged by a loving team of volunteers! It’s also a great time to make encouraging connections with this special part of our church body! Volunteers must be members of Christ Covenant, but no experience with disabilities is necessary. We seek to ensure all volunteers are serving in roles best suited to them. To learn more or register to volunteer please contact Amy Van Dusen by June 27.

Also, if you are a Christ Covenant family (members or regularly attending) impacted by disability or special needs who would benefit from participating in this Respite Event, please contact Amy Van Dusen by June 27.

Set Free Ministry Parent Group

Set Free is a ministry of Christ Covenant Church that provides counsel and help to those affected or trapped in sexual sin. More specifically, there exists a parent group for those who have children, or other loved ones, struggling with sexual sin. The group seeks to provide support and faithful prayer for these families. We equip parents with biblical resources to help disciple their loved ones in these struggles. If you are interested in joining our parent group, please contact Derek Wells for more information.
