Our new Food to Go service is live

Although our restaurants are now temporarily closed, you can now order some of your favourite Lunya dishes and new home-cooked comfort food to arrive frozen, to be reheated and eaten at home. You can also pick it up in the Liverpool deli.

Think: garbanzos, patatas bravas, plus cottage pie, lasagne and albondigas pasta bake and lots more - full list of dishes and delivery details (which will be contact-free) is now on our website ( click here ). Local orders will be delivered by ourselves on set days each week, and we can offer delivery nationwide via UPS.

We’re also offering local front-line NHS workers who need it our Food to Go free of charge to support them and their families whilst they’re saving lives.

This is brand new to us, so be gentle with us whilst we settle into this new world of ours. We want to do everything perfectly and will do our very best to try and achieve that.

Impact of Corona Virus

Can we take this opportunity to wish all of our beautiful customers the very best of health during this dreadful time. If there is anything we can do, that we can possibly help with, please just ask. we are delivering into each city each week, we are opposite a big Tesco's. If you are unable to get out, is there anything we can help with?

This week has been surreal for us. Our restaurants have now closed until the Government advise us to reopen. Our Liverpool and Albert dock delis remain open for now for grocery shopping and take-away drinks, and our online shop is particularly busy sending food and drink all over the country. Sunday 22nd March the Manchester deli will be open 12-3 and then we will fully shut there until after this lockdown to ensure we have the resources to keep our Liverpool deli going. We will be still delivering into Manchester via our online shop.

This week, Peter wrote to the Prime Minister - an impassioned plea to support the hospitality sector at this time, to prevent 3.5M people losing their jobs as income stopped and all the fixed expenses remained (you can read the full letter here. Within 2 hours, this was getting read out at the Treasury Select Committee by local MP (and regular at Lunya) Alison McGovern, with the Chancellor directly addressing the concerns raised. A spate of media appearances all week and by Friday, the Chancellor announced the loans would be grants. Like nearly all hospitality businesses, the future is utterly unpredictable (and with our natural concerns about personal survival through this crisis, the future of the business might seem an irrelevance), but when the virus crisis is over, it will be hundreds of thousands of small businesses like us that will need to be around to pay the taxes to ensure we have essential services and employing people. as a business, we have no idea if we will survive this. We have had unbelievable support so far and thank you from the bottom of our hearts for this.

So many people are asking how they can support us at this time. We do not want charity! But you can order online for us to deliver food to your home, order our new Meals on Wheels service or buy a voucher for when we are back. Easter is coming up, we have lots of Easter eggs and chocolates that you can purchase!

Above all else, be careful , stay healthy and we can't wait to see and serve you whenever this lockdown finishes.

Lunya Gin

Get through lockdown with a bottle of our totally unique Lunya Gin. A collaboration between Peter & Elaine and John O'Dowd of Love Lane Distillery to produce our very own recipe gin. It is astonishingly good. Driven by the botanicals of membrillo (quince), orange blossom flower and smoked nora pepper, it has a delightful bouquet, great aromatics on your palate, and a smooth mouthful.
