Be sure to place all orders for delivery by the end of the day on Monday, January 18th for delivery on Tuesday, January 19th! We will not be making deliveries on Wednesday, January 20th. Orders placed for delivery on Tuesday or Wednesday will be delivered on Thursday, January 21st.

In honor of our first Madam Vice President, we've selected some of our favorite wines from Kamala Harris's home state of California!
Schramsberg Blanc de Blancs Brut 2017: $41.99

  • Made from 100% Chardonnay from the central coast using the traditional Champagne method – produced and bottled in their Calistoga cellars. Blanc de Blancs was the first wine Schramsberg produced in 1965 and was America's first commercially produced Chardonnay-based brut sparkling wine. Bright aromas of Meyer lemon, golden apple, Bosc pear, marzipan and baking spice follow through to tasting notes of green apple skin and lemon curd on the palate ending with a long, vibrant finish.

Bedrock Wine Company Sauvignon Blanc: $21.99
  • Bedrock Wine Co. was started in 2007 out of a friend’s tiny winery on the outskirts of the town of Sonoma. Morgan Twain-Peterson MW is the owner and winemaker. The wine comes entirely from musque clone grown at Uboldi Vineyard (93%) in Kenwood and Judge Vineyard (7%) in Bennett Valley. nearly half of this wine was barrel fermented in a combination of used Austrian and French barrels of various sizes along with a small percentage of new oak. The opulent melon-like (honeydew/Crenshaw) flavor and weightiness is balanced by notes of yuzu and a vibrant acidity with a long finish.

Rivers-Marie Platt Vineyard Chardonnay 2017: $74.99

  • Since 2002, the winery has been owned and operated by Thomas Rivers Brown and Genevieve Marie Welsh, producing limited production premium wines. The wine is whole cluster pressed followed by barrel fermentation. No inoculation for primary or secondary unless necessary. No stirring. Limited sulfur additions. 100% French Oak barrels used (0% - 25% new oak ).This Sonoma Coast single-vineyard Chardonnay comes from a cooler site leading to its initial, bracing acidity followed by the long lemon oil dominated finish. In between this are notes of orange peel, poached pear, honeysuckle, mint, white pepper, white peach and pineapple. 120 cases were produced.

Union Sacré Cabernet Sauvignon “La Passion du Diable” 2015: $56.99
  • Made by two friends from two continents and two different traditions - Xavier is a WSET certified, oenology degree holder from France, Philip is a self-taught designer from Michigan. The cabernet sauvignon comes from Starlane Vineyard in Santa Barbara County and Chelle Mountain Vineyard in San Luis Obispo County. The wine spends 16 months on fine lees with one racking after fall, followed by fermentation for 4 weeks in 100% new French oak. Only 110 cases were produced. Signature tasting notes include cigar box, leather, black pepper, violet, lilacs, black currant, black beer and cayenne pepper.

La Sirena Le Barrettage: $99.99
  • The first vintage of Le Barrettage was 2009, when world class winemaker Heidi Barrett decided to evolve her single-vineyard Barrett Syrah into a layered, complex Rhone-style blend that paid homage to the L’Hermitage region of the Northern Rhone, home to many wines she admires. This super-expressive wine is comprised of a Syrah-dominant blend with a pinch of Grenache and Petite Sirah from the Calistoga appellation (94% Syrah, 3% Grenache, and 3% Petite Sirah). 100% French Oak barrels are used (40% new for ~24 months). Rich, velvety, earthy and ripe. Deep blackberry in color the aromas include plum and cherry-like fruit with nuances of white pepper, green tea, and cardamom spice. 200 cases produced.

The 5-course meal inspired by this tiny, but mighty nation will be paired with wines that span the breadth of the country and it's islands. No individual producer could provide this portfolio of wines, so we have turned to Ole & Obrigado Founder Rui Abecassis, who will be with us Virtually to discuss Portugal's wines. Participants will be introduced to a number of wineries and winemakers who offer distinct wines few Americans know about.
