PRAISES / UPDATES

  • The banquet was a blessing to the House of Hope and the community. Thank you for your generous support. We hope to increase the number of invitations for the next banquet in 2023.

  • A contingent of House of Hope residents, and graduates, along with staff and board members visited with a dozen members of the Area Pastors Association in Price County. They were very excited about the possibility of partnering with us to establish a similar ministry in Price County.

  • Our men continue to strengthen their faith and sobriety. The second weekend in March, they attended a spiritual formation retreat.

  • We are interviewing several men who have applied for residency at the House of Hope.
PRAYER NEEDS FOR....

  • Funding and resources to improve the Phase 3 space

  • Residents and those we are mentoring

  • God’s wisdom as we consider what type of permanent shop space we will need to build

  • God’s wisdom as we consider staffing plans and other needed programming and ministry improvements

  • Endurance and healthy work/rest rhythms as some of us are a bit weary 😊

  • God’s wisdom and favor as we consider multiplying this ministry in other places

SUBSTANCE TRENDS IN THE COMMUNITY
House of Hope volunteers and Staff attended a drug and alcohol awareness meeting sponsored by the LCO Tribe. Hundreds of people attended. We learned many sobering truths. Two-thirds of the men in jail have tribal affiliations. We have been in conversations with individuals from LCO to discuss ways we can partner more effectively to take on this scourge of drugs and alcohol. The statistics and stories were heart breaking. Our aim is to do our part and help souls start over and become the people that God created them to be. This is a whole community effort, and by God’s grace that is what we have seen.

RAFFLE WINNERS!
Weekly winners are announced on the Greater Hayward House of Hope Facebook page every Friday. Winners’ checks will be mailed out every Friday as well in 2022.

Blessings in Christ,

Rev. Mike Thompson,

OUR MISSION:
Greater Hayward House of Hope is a rehabilitation ministry that helps men overcome life controlling addiction issues

Our strategies include:
1-year residential program: Addressing spiritual, relational, addiction recovery and job readiness needs through programing and mentoring relationships.
Jail ministry: Helping inmates transition to successful life upon release through healthy relationship building, addiction recovery resourcing & moral instruction.
Weekly support group: Facilitating a support group for those who struggle with addiction and life controlling issues in a faith-based setting.
Workforce development: Facilitating a trade skills program in which participants are trained to meet regional employer workforce needs. This program is a core component of our residential program, and it’s open to non-residential candidates.

Our weekly support group, called "Overcomers" is open to the public (men and women) at Spider Lake Church Main Street Campus every Thursday night at 7 pm.
