Hey Powerhouse Woman!

Yes, we are now in the middle of the PrayHers Nationwide Challenge, and I present to you the recap of Days 8-14.

If you have been missing our morning motivational calls Monday-Friday at 6:00am CST 7:00am EST, you have been missing a GLORIOUS time! (call-in info below)

Each day we alternate various powerhouse women who come on the line to share a motivational word as it relates to the challenge followed by prayer, and it has been Power-full!!!

In this season, we can’t be ill-equipped to fly. God wants us to SOAR. Soar high above the debt, the brokenness, the confusion, the pain, the regret. He wants us to SOAR, but guess what? We can’t fly…BROKE.

Therefore, God has had us in maintenance mode for the first 13 days. We had to examine our hearts, forgive some people-mom, dad, sister, brother, co-worker, clients, or business partners. Like our motivator, Lady J said on Day 6 (Get Rid of Unforgive-mess) , you might even have to make a trip to the grave yard to forgive and let go.

Take a serious look in the mirror, and ask God, “Am I the problem?” Am I contributing to my lack of progress? “Is there anything in me that I don’t see that needs mending? If so, please reveal it. Be open to the correction.

THE RECAP

Sunday, Day 8 Great vs Great- Day 8 paints a beautiful picture of what it looks like when women celebrate each other. Day 8 shares the story of Mary and Elizabeth. One was carrying John, the other carrying Jesus. But, both was carrying greatness!

They Both carried a ministry that would change the world forever. They encouraged each other, and they recognized the gift that each brought.

Note: WE ARE ALL CARRYING SOMETHING BIG AND WE CANNOT BE AFRAID OF SOMEONE ELSE’S BEING BIGGER. If it all works together for the greater good of mankind isn’t that what should matter most? Selah.

John had the role of letting people know who was coming, and why we should care. He was not afraid of losing his status. He was not afraid of losing followers to Jesus, which he did. If you read John 1:35-40 you will find that Andrew was a disciple of John before he was a follower of Jesus. Andrew told Peter, his brother, about Jesus and they both became followers. The true beauty of the shift in leadership was that there was never any friction, envy, jealousy, or covetousness on the part of Jesus nor John. Why? Because they knew they were both GREAT and no one could take that away from them. They knew that their mission was bigger than themselves.

Monday, Day 9- Each one Reach One Motivator, Tammy Dean, Host and author of, In HERS in YOURS!

It was great to have my sisters from week 1 to chime in again for week 2 of our morning motivational and prayer calls. Day 9 challenged us not to size up our sisters based on her outward appearance. We assume because she wears nice things, drives a nice car, lives in a nice house, and smiles a lot that all is well in her life.

I shared about a time, years ago, when our family got hit hard in the area of finances. We had just enough, and at times…not enough! I recalled a time I was at the grocery store carrying my designer purse and wearing a chic coat, but I only had $20 for groceries. To look at me during that time you would never have known that I was in a financial battle.

We have women on our morning calls that if you knew THEIR stories you wouldn’t believe it! I If you were ever been a stripper- you are not alone.

If you have ever been on drugs-you are not alone! If you have spent time in a mental facility-you are not alone! If you spent time in prison or jail-you are not alone! If you have been in a physically abusive relationship-you are not alone!

‘Something you may face tomorrow is being conquered by a sister today. Hopefully, she will be there for you like you have the chance to be there for someone right now. If EACH ONE REACH ONE, no one will be left behind.’ Excerpt from Day 9, In HERS is YOURS!

Tuesday, Day 10 Don’t Be A Discourage- HER Motivator Dr. Stacy Cannon

Discouragement is inevitable, especially when you are looking through the eyes of comparison. Do not look at another person/s qualifications, resources, abilities, or achievements to determine whether not you qualify to have your own. (excerpt from Day 10, In Hers is Yours) _

Our motivator Dr. Stacy is a pediatrician, and she has the calming voice to prove it-LOL. She is gentle in her speech, but powerful in her message. She referenced our scripture for todays challenge, which was Deuteronomy 1:28 Where can we go up? Our brethren have discouraged our hearts, saying, “The people are greater and taller than we; the cities are great and fortified up to heaven; moreover we have seen the sons of the Anakim there.”

On the morning call Dr. Stacy said these words, “It’s not what people tell us, it’s what we tell ourselves. We don’t have to buy into the naysayers.” She went on to say, The world will say all kinds of things, but what is God saying? What has God told you about your situation? Whatever it is, He has not forgotten it.” He will bring it to past according to Phiilipians 1:8 Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:

Another golden nugget we were encouraged with is: use discernment when sharing your vision with others. Because everyone is not for you. Lastly, let God establish your platform. Don’t be discouraged by not having a social media presence. God knows the best avenue to promote His agenda.
If you want to kill BIG dream tell it to small minded people.

Wednesday, Day 11 Wonderfully Made- Motivator Cheryl Rosenbaugh

Day 11 was inspiring and educational. Our motivator described herself as a teacher to the core, so it was no surprise that she dug a little deeper into our scripture reference Psalm 139:14. I will praise thee for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvelous are thy works; and my soul know right well.

We learned that whenever characteristics are used to describe a situation. It’s a tool of speaking life. No matter what the world says, we need to love who we are, speak like, remind ourselves that we are fearfully and wonderfully made.

It’s when we try to insert ourselves into areas of life not created for us that we lack confidence and experience awkwardness. During times of insecurity, reverence God. Cheryl also reminded us not to use social media as our standard because oftentimes people are putting up the highlight reels of their life. They are going to show you the best of the best, and leave the rest, which will also leave you feeling inadequate, and like you are not doing enough.

God doesn’t make mistakes. I know with confidence who I am. I am perfectly imperfectly in God.~ Cheryl Rosenbaugh. Be authentically you.

JUST DO YOU~ By India Arie

I heard a voice that told me I'm essential
How all my fears are limiting my potential
Said it's time to step into the light and
Use every bit of the power I have inside and

So what'chu waiting on
Who you waiting for
If you don't take a chance you'll never know whats in store
Just do you (somebody's got to be your star)
Just do you (somebody's got to raise the bar)
Just do you (somebody's got to change the game)
Just do you (today)

Every mountain needs someone to climb it
Every ocean needs someone to dive in
Every dream needs someone to wish it
Every adventure needs someone to live it
So what'chu waiting on
Who you waiting for If you don't take a chance you'll never know whats in store

Thursday, Day 12- Do It As Unto The Lord, Motivator Cathy Dabney

Day 12 was the day the plane begin to pick up speed in preparation for take-off. Cathy Dabney, our motivator for the day, came in with guns a blazing! She fired off some very quick rounds that had our minds swirling.

How about I just hit you with a few? :
  • God is not complicated. We think God is this untouchable mystical being that is hard to relate to or understand. He is not! He is loving, caring, and gentle, and worthy of our time.
  • Don’t stand God up! Spend time with Him. How do we know what time it is when we don’t make time for God. God knows the seasons, and the thoughts and plans for us, but how will we know what season of life we are in if we don’t consult with the Maker? We have great ideas, but wrong season. We think we are being faithful, when in actuality we are being foolish. Live the life you “post” to be. We post to social media the high light reels of our life, when in reality we are broken. True transparency can save lives.
  • We can trust our girls with our secrets, but we won’t trust God with our insecurities. Let’s be in with God.
  • It’s time to unload the baggage. What do we need to let go of?
  • In conclusion, Cathy led us in a breathing lamaze type exercise. We all took a deep breath in and then exhaled out. We repeated that 7 times. After the 7th time we pushed as if to birth. She urged us to push away something in our midst. Something that represented pushing.

The final conclusion was a word from the lord through Cathy: The drought is over. There is a suddenly. Get your work clothes ready. Someone is about to get a new job. The drought is over in your health, finances, relationships.

Min Tina, also had a word to share: God said, I have not forgotten what you asked for me. I heard you. The time is now.

Friday, Day 13 Unity- Motivator Min Tina Hewlett

Min Tina begin our motivation by referencing scripture in the book, In HERS is YOURS!  When one hurts we all hurts. God intricately designed us to compliment each other in various ways. We are to work together to allow our individual gifts to flourish stronger. They don’t shine as bright when trying to do life alone. We must be UNITED! It’s how we are able to utilize God’s power in us more effectively and efficiently.

Min Tina reminded us that the love God has for us is no less than the love he has for the next person. We are called to run together not against each other. She stressed the importance of not carrying the baggage of strife and division. Don’t be cancerous to the body of Christ. When we harbor bitterness and unforgiveness we risk infecting those around us. They will start to feel the same way about a group, or person the same way we do. Energy is contagious, and so is bitterness.

One of the things that Min Tina prayed was, God, help us to identify anything that is coming between our time with you. Make it known.

Are you seeing a pattern? God loves us so much. He wants to spend time with us. He has answers that will bring clarity to our life.

Day 14, RESTORE-HER

Day 14 of the challenge fell on the day of our PrayHers monthly Sisterhood meeting, so it was nice to be able to discuss the importance of restoring our sisters when they miss the mark. We were reminded to look for the cues. Has she become distant? Sad? Is her normal mode of operation different? Also, we should listen carefully to her conversation, because in it she will drop clue words that indicate there is an underlying issue. If you discover that your sister has made a wrong turn and is reaping the repercussions of it, that is not the time to say, I told you so. That is the time to say, “Let’s learn from it and move on.”

REGISTER The plane is still on the runway. You can still board! Join us Monday June 9th 6:00am-6:40am as we resume morning motivational and prayer calls. 515-604-9350 Access #701467
Don’t Charge It To Christmas! Tammy Dean
Let's make sure our Christmas season spending isn’t linked to pride or misdiagnosed expectation. In other words make sure you are not buying a gift under pressure, or a perceived expectation.

I will admit, when we were trying to get rid of credit card debt it was very hard to omit Christmas gifts from family and friends.

There was a lot we wanted to do, but couldn't, at least if we didn't want the creditor's foot on our neck. We had to be strategic and buy for a select few, and buy from the heart, and not out of obligation.

It’s not a blessing if it creates debt and pressure in your life. Proverbs 10:22 says, the blessing of the Lord it maketh rich and he adds no sorrow with it .

Sorrow means no pain, hurt offense, hardship, toil. Therefore, if creating debt will cause you sorrow later then is it a blessing? At least not a blessing from God.
Spend wisely sis!
