FRA Awards Spotlight: Southeast Overtown/Park West CRA

The Southeast Overtown/Park West CRA won the  2018   Outstanding Housing Project Award  for  the  Town Park Plaza North Rehabilitation and Renovation Project.

Town Park Plaza North is among the oldest and largest multi-family housing developments located in the Southeast Overtown/Park West CRA.  Built in 1973, the aging buildings have suffered from years of
deteriorating  physical conditions. In an effort to reverse the property's decline and preserve its residential units, the CRA invested $15.3 million into the rehabilitation and renovation project.

Congratulations, Southeast Overtown/Park West CRA and keep up the good work!

  • Do any CRA's use a formalized agreement in addition to the grant application and award notification?

  • We are looking to institute supplemental community policing in our county initiated CRA, so we are looking for community examples of agreements between the CRA and law enforcement (interlocal agreement with police or in this case the sheriff's office), AND examples of the tracking needs and benchmark methods agreed on to demonstrate the CRA is receiving the funded supplemental community policing (and to use for the annual audit). We would appreciate any examples of draft or actually executed agreements and the tracking and/or benchmark standards.

  • Reaching out to see if anyone has put out an RFP for a corridor study and if so, would they be willing to share?

  • Have any CRA's partnered on the purchase of property as an incentive?

The City of Fort Pierce and Fort Pierce Redevelopment Agency (FPRA) invite interested parties to submit a Statement of Qualifications for the redevelopment of the property known as the former H.D. King Plant site located at 311 Indian River Drive.

Situated in the heart of Downtown Fort Pierce, the H.D. King site was the former home of the electricity generating facility for the Fort Pierce Utilities Authority. The facility was demolished in 2008 and the site underwent a series of soil remediation processes. The remediation has been completed and the site offers approximately 7.2 acres for redevelopment. The City of Fort Pierce and FPRA are soliciting qualifications and proposals from qualified individuals, developers, or firms to design and develop a mixed-use project on the property that includes a hotel.
