MAKERSPACE IS UNDERWAY!
Today we broke ground on the Downtown Library’s Makerspace! Zone 4 Construction of San Carlos has begun building the creation and collaboration space of our dreams. Pardon our dust while we transform our former Computer Lab into the Makerspace.

The Makerspace is designed to provide equitable access for community members to technology and other tools that might not be readily accessible or affordable for individuals. A makerspace is a community workspace where people with common creative interests, in computers, technology, science, art, electronic art, crafts, and sewing, can meet, socialize, and collaborate. The Makerspace will provide opportunities for people of all ages to create, experiment and collaborate in a self-directed hands-on learning environment.

Do you want to contribute to the Makerspace? Redwood City Library Foundation has less than $100,000 left to raise to fully equip and furnish the space. Donate today to ready the Makerspace for our grand opening. If you want to directly purchase the equipment we need like a Cricut, or a robot, or recording devices, check out our Amazon Wish List!

Thanks for your patience as we near the finish line. Stay tuned for more Makerspace news.
