Thank You Pinnacle Bank!
Thank you Pinnacle Bank for hosting, what feels like ages ago, our October General Membership Meeting! Pinnacle Bank has the perfect conference room to host your events. Spacious and comfortable with the tech needed for power point presentations. Again, thank you Pinnacle Bank and to Hollie Olk for setting us up.

Columbus Home Builders would also like to thank Bob Irby with Pathfinder Wealth Advisors and Lori A. Peters, Executive Director of Habitat for Humanity of Columbus for presenting. Bob gave us 10 reasons to why we should save for retirement. Many Americans aren't prepared and 67% of respondents to a retirement survey said they planned to work in retirement! Do you plan to work in retirement? Plan now!

Lori updated members on the projects the Habitat was currently working on as well as letting us know the amount of work that goes into putting up a Habitat house and the number of volunteers needed to do so. Please consider volunteering your time to helping build a house or become a member of Club82 (provide a donation of $82 or more). The cost of building a Habitat home is $82 per square foot, which means each $82 donation is providing one foot of change in someone's life. The Habitat is a wonderful organization that has helped many families move into their dream house and call that house a home.

Double Our Membership

If every member recruited just one new member we'd double our size! It's easy math but much harder to ask a sub-contractor or friend to pay money to join an association they may not be familiar with. Solve the problem by inviting them to a monthly meeting. Bring them with you to an upcoming event like the CHBA Steak Fry in August or the Holiday Party in November. Invite them to help roof the Habitat house when we partner up with Columbus Habitat for Humanity. Help them to get to know us!

Please refer to the list to the left. If you know anyone on a personal level or you work with them, please invite them to join CHBA.
The larger the Federation, the louder its voice will be.
Attention Members! Our logo is at Columbus Custom Embroidery. Next time you are ordering shirts with your company logo on them, consider placing our logo on the shirts as well.

COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT
CHBA is here for the people of Columbus. Between sponsorships, donations, and physical labor we work hard to complete the vision and purpose that the leaders of our great city of Columbus have. Below are images of just a few of CHBA's recent projects and events that we've been involved with.
OUR FUTURE
Can you imagine a world without the automobile, the telephone or the computer? Innovation is impossible without the ability to dream and discover. The inventors of tomorrow are today's dreamers. Columbus Public Schools STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) Academy wants to help them branch out and grow roots in their career. STEM fosters creativity and innovative thinking and teaches students to become problem-solvers.

The Nebraska Association of Skilled and Technical Educators has presented its Program of Excellence Award to CHS. The honor is meant to recognize educational programs within the state that exceed in providing students with learning experiences and knowledge of industry work, careers and applications of basic skills.
SkillsUSA is a national nonprofit organization. It is a partnership of students, teachers and industry representatives working together to ensure America has a skilled workforce. SkillsUSA serves middle school, high school and college students in programs preparing them for technical, skilled and service careers. In addition to technical skills training, SkillsUSA provides educational experiences for students in leadership, teamwork, citizenship and character development. SkillsUSA was formerly known as VICA (the Vocational Industrial Clubs of America).
