We did it! Clerk McMullen wins re-election with 67% of the vote

Dear Friends,

We did it! In the most recent unofficial results update on Friday, Nov. 6, I continue to keep my strong lead with 67% of the vote. I also now have more support than in November 2022, with more than 116,000 voters choosing me to continue as the Clackamas County Clerk.

I am thrilled and deeply honored to share that I have won re-election as your Clackamas County Clerk!

What a wonderful feeling to know that voters across Clackamas County continue to place their confidence in me, my leadership, my team, and the work we have accomplished together. I am grateful for the opportunity to serve another four years. This victory belongs to all of us who believe in professional public service, accountable and inclusive government, and elections that every voter can trust.

This election was about more than a campaign or an individual office. It was a win for election integrity, professional election administration, and good, inclusive governance. It was about the importance of experience, professionalism, and accountability. Your support tells me that voters value the work of a professional Clerk's Office and believe in the importance of getting the fundamentals right: accurate, fair, transparent, and accessible elections and public services. That support means a great deal to me.

I could not have reached this moment without so many of you, hundreds of volunteers pitched in! Thank you for contributing, volunteering, writing postcards, putting up signs, knocking on doors, making calls, sharing the importance of this office, and encouraging your friends and neighbors to vote. So many of you gave your time, energy, and resources.

A special shout out to the Tuesday Night Cabinet, the Willamette View Postcard Crew, and my husband and children! You helped build a positive, non-partisan campaign that reached every corner of Clackamas County, and I will always be grateful.

This election cycle also brought a personal loss with the passing of Dr. Doug Morgan, my friend, mentor, and ethics professor at the Hatfield School of Government at PSU. Dr. Morgan helped shape how I think about public service, ethical leadership, and the responsibility that comes with public trust. Those lessons have stayed with me throughout my career, and I am especially mindful of them as I look toward another four years of service.

In my first term, we accomplished so much together. We rebuilt one of the largest election jurisdictions in the state from the ground up; strengthened election security and transparency, expanded voter education and accessibility; improved recording services, and brought wedding ceremonies for ALL back to the Clerk's Office. I am proud of my team's work and the progress made. There is always more to do.

I look forward to building on that progress in the next four years, continuing to earn the public's trust, and finding new ways to serve our community. I hope that other local elected and appointed officials will join me in focusing on public trust, transparency, and ethical leadership as we approach a new year of service.

For now, we should all take a moment to celebrate what we accomplished together. Thank you for believing in me, standing with me, and being part of this work. It is an extraordinary privilege to serve as your County Clerk and head election official.

With heartfelt gratitude,

Catherine McMullen
