In search of: calm, patient humans

Greetings!

Finding the right soulmate for dogs like Anchor and Latte is about finding a partner who understands that trust is a slow-growing flower, not an instant light switch.

These two sweet souls have transitioned from a world where they were treated as disposable to a place of safety here in Vermont. They are ready for the people who will see them for the adorable, resilient pups they are.

To help Anchor and Latte find their forever homes, we are seeking humans with patience and a quiet life.

Here's what their ideal people look like:

Valuing the Slow Bond: You understand that true connection is built over weeks and months, not minutes. You find more joy in the first time a shy dog rests their head on your knee than in instant affection.

Keepers of your Word: If you say dinner is at 5:00 PM, you’re the kind of person who keeps that promise. To a dog who has known only chaos, a predictable schedule is the greatest gift of safety you can provide.

Architects of Calm: You appreciate a peaceful environment and understand that for dogs like Anchor and Latte, a high-energy, bustling household can feel overwhelming.

Seekers of Solitude: Your ideal Saturday isn't a trip to a crowded dog park or a busy grocery store. You prefer a quiet walk in the woods or a secluded trail where smelling the flowers is the main event.

The Dogs Behind the Story

Anchor (black)- Having moved past his medical treatments, Anchor is finally ready to play. While he is shy with humans at first, he melts around other dogs.

Latte (tan)- Is a sensitive soul who blooms in the company of a canine friend. When she feels safe, her inner goober comes out, and she races around the yard with pure, unadulterated joy.

We Need Your Help to Broaden the Net

Anchor and Latte have been waiting for nearly two months. While many dogs found homes during our recent special, these two were overlooked—perhaps because their magic is the quiet kind that doesn't "shout" from a kennel.

Someone in your circle knows the person these dogs are waiting for.

Please share their story. Let’s find the people who are ready to prove to Anchor and Latte that they are finally, truly home.
