Message from the President
Earlier this year the Delaware State Chamber of Commerce, in collaboration with the Delaware Association of Chambers came up with a policy agenda and proposals intended to make it easier to start and run a business in Delaware. One of those agenda items was the creation of a “common app”, so to speak, approach to permitting. The concept was to provide an entrepreneur a single place to go to form and create a business. Fast forward to this month, and the new Delaware OneStop site has gone live.

Back to School
This week was back to school for most Delaware students, though if you’re like me you had one that started pre-Labor Day. In the fall, the Chamber is part of two school-related events that members can take advantage of: Delaware Principal for a Day and Manufacturing Week.

The Benefits of Equipment Finance Trust Structures
What is an equipment finance trust? An equipment finance trust or equipment trust is a structure where a company establishes a trust—generally a Delaware statutory or common law trust—for the purpose of owning or leasing one or more pieces of equipment. The assets held by the trust may range from a single aircraft,
vessel, crane, or other type of heavy equipment, to an entire fleet of motor vehicles.

Health to Wealth: A Blurry Line Coming into Focus
Many of us know about health savings accounts (HSA’s) as a health benefit, but did you know they can also play an important role in retirement saving? Because health and medical costs are the no. 1 expense in retirement, it’s important to factor the high cost of health care into retirement savings. Fortunately, HSA’s can
help solve for both current and future health care needs by providing an investment option employees can use long-term.
