AAPI Month! Whoop Whoop! LOLOL

bitmoji.png

As an Asian American woman, second generation, I take pride in my cultural heritage and the depth in which it makes me the person I am today. Having a grandfather that fought with the allies in WWII, a grandmother that was part of the Filipino underground crossing checkpoints with 6 children under 18; they both survived the Japanese occupation, immigrated to the United States after the war and their legacy lives on in over 120 family members and now 4 generations.

It is no surprise to me the contributions in which my family and many other Asian Americans have added to this great country. Lots of great books about and authored by Asian Americans. Pick one up this month!

Continue to educate yourself in May!

Book-to-Film Book Club

Where the Crawdads Sing by Delia Owens

For years, rumors of the “Marsh Girl” haunted Barkley Cove, a quiet fishing village. Kya Clark is barefoot and wild; unfit for polite society. So in late 1969, when the popular Chase Andrews was found dead, locals immediately suspected her.

The film is scheduled to come out July 15. Sign up for your copy. Book club will meet on July 12th where we will discuss the book and the current controversy surrounding the author. You will also receive a movie ticket.
