We want to invite you to judge the 25th Annual Tri-County Science & Technology Fair on
Saturday, April 28, 2018 at White Plains High School.
This is the only regional fair in our area with three levels: Elementary, Middle and High School. Most fairs only showcase one or two levels at most, but our fair provides a clear path for students to continue their interest in science and technology throughout their academic careers.
A student must win a local fair at their school to qualify for the event. Prizes are given to winners at each level in the categories of
Biology
Chemistry
Clinical/Social Psychology
Earth / Space
Engineering / Technology
Environment
Health & Nutrition
Math / Computers
Medicine and Medical Science & Technology
Physics
Physiological/Experimental Psychology
You are receiving this email because you are recognized as a technical professional in one of the aforementioned categories, and we feel you can provide our students with an honest, objective critique of their exhibits.
If you have already registered to be a judge at this fair, we thank you, and please disregard the rest of this email
.
If you have not judged at our fair before, you can learn even more about its background and register to judge at the
Judges' Website
.
But if you have judged at our fair before and desire to do so again, you can register at
http://tinyurl.com/tcsf-judges-form
Registration for judging at the fair will remain open until Monday, April 16.
After submitting your registration, we will email you a confirmation of your registration to determine whether you have a potential conflict of interest with any of the students, schools, or exhibit topics at the fair. Plus, we will ask whether you wish to be included in our online networking directory that we plan to publish by the day of the fair with contact information of our judges and other volunteers. Assuming that you confirm that you still plan to judge, we will send you one last email with a packet of information, including a map with directions, judging guidelines, and a program, listing you as an official judge of the fair.
The only qualifications to be a judge are a technical background in one or more of the categories and an enthusiasm to inspire children in Science & Technology. We can assure you from the responses of those judges who attended over the years that not only was the fair a lot of fun, but you could sense how appreciative the children (and their parents and teachers) were that we cared.
Feel free to invite your colleagues and professional associates who may also be interested in serving as a judge to register. Forward this e-mail to them with the link to the registration form above.
There is also a separate poster

that you can either print, post at work, or send to others to help recruit judges.
How to Register as a Volunteer
If you prefer NOT to judge but would still like to volunteer in some capacity, OR
if you'd like to bring along your spouse, significant other, or some other guest such as a student who can use community service hours, who could also serve as a volunteer,
please use the volunteer form at
http://tinyurl.com/tcsf-volunteers-form
. (Please note:
guests of judges are NOT allowed in the exhibit area during the judging unless they are registered as volunteers.
