National Day for Truth and Reconciliation
Each year, September 30 marks the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.

The day honours the children who never returned home and Survivors of residential schools, as well as their families and communities.

It also marks Orange Shirt Day, symbolizing the profound loss of culture, freedom, and self-esteem endured by Indigenous children through generations.

Visit our display to learn about Residential Schools and share your thoughts on an orange shirt.
Watch and Learn
Earlier this year, we had the honor of hosting Chief Robert Joseph to speak about his new book Namwayut: A Pathway to Reconciliation.

At the event Chief Joseph spoke about his experience at St. Michael’s Indian Residential School, his own immense work towards Reconciliation, and his vision for Canada and the world if we all take part in Reconciliation work.

In case you missed it, you can watch the recording of the event online here.
